They are serious about easter here. Most of the town is shut down, the big grocery stores open. Most restaurants closed.Almost no traffic on the streets, which is very rare.We might have to go to the Hotel Intercontinental for dinner. At least one restaurant there will be open for the people staying there.

Exito, Carrefour, Pomona are open, but shorter hours in Bogota.  Different restaurants are also open, like Crepes & Waffles, El Corral.  At least when crossing the streets now there is a lesser chance of getting run over.

I also hope that everyone here has a wonderful Easter. I also wanted to tell you Pablo that your post on Jardin was awesome; well beyond anything I could hope to find in Lonely Planet or Footprint travel guides. I hope to visit Jardin in May.

Thanks Seeker for the compliments concerning my TR about Jardín.  It is an incredible little city and I hope to return there one day.

One important safety concern that I forgot to mention though is to be very careful when driving out to Jardín from Medellin.  Close to Jardín (20+- km away) there are a couple of turns in the road that had one small sawhorse on the side with the hand painted word "peligro" on it.  Turning the corner you suddenly came across a landslide that easily covered up the one lane we were on.  Those landslides looked rather old as they had grass, etc. growing on them so I imagine they are still there.  Pity the unobservant driver who misses those flimsy warning signs as a serious accident could occur.

Happy trails.

Thanks for the additional safety tip. I'll heed your warning as we travel out to Jardin.
