I miss Jerry also...Dennis is doing a good job filling in, but a couple of the most recent shows, really sucked plot wise. Sorry to hear about your Uncle. I hope gets well soon.

My website has some free information about
marriage in Brazil, the Brazil tourist visa, the
US spousal visa from the Consulate in Rio,
and other general information about Brazil.

Good luck.

I'm engaged to a brasileira.  If you check the archives you can read my saga.

Maceio is a fairly small city in the northeast of Brazil.  I believe it is north of Recife and south of Natal.  It has fantastic uncrowded, unspoiled beaches and so caters to tourism, mostly domestic.  However, there is not much of anything else there.  There is no international airport and you might have to take a bus there.  There are few, if any, five star hotels.  You can have a great time if you go with a namorada and hang out on the beaches.

BP, maybe you´re thinking of a different city. Maceió has a population of 800,000 and is south of Recife. I don't know about five star hotels, but it's loaded with nice ones, and it has a very adequate domestic airport.

Maceió overall is gorgeous, and at times I wish I had relocated there a couple of years ago from Florianópolis as I almost did. The city itself isn't as nice as here, but the beaches are just amazing and the color of the water is hypnotizing.

You may be right, Bueller.  I wrote the post without benefit of my map of Brazil.  I may have had Sao Joao in mind, which is north of Recife and some other cities.

Welcome amigo.  But at 28 why are you into Brazil?
Seems like you could have any girl you want in the USA.

Tell us more about your choice to go to Brazil.

Gmellobrazil,

Welcome to our little latina message board!  Like some of the other posters here, I am also curious about a 27 or 28 year old guy from Cleveland, who is checking out latinas in Latin America.  Can you tell us more about yourself?  We can all relate to the AW problem, but most of us are much older than you.  However, there are a few younger ones. (I am 51).  I wish you the best.  One the one hand, I am curious about Brazil too; but I have never been there.  Who knows, if I don't find the right lady in Colombia, then I can check out Brazil.  At any rate, fill us in on whatever you feel comfortable telling us.  However, we just ask you to shoot straight.  Keep the BS to a minimum. ha Best of luck in your search.

hello well like i said guys my age we are not putting up with the A W  thing any more. AW have it to easy in the usa. we cater to them and they take advantage of us. i have been actracted to latin women all my life. we have latin women in cleveland but they are so segragated. the latina girls in cleveland will not talk to men of another race.

so i did a llot of research over the web. i started looking into the latin marriage. I added up the cost and it turns out to be the best move for me. I cant live life happy with a AW. You have to go thru a llot with a black aw to understand what i mean. please note" I am a black male.

i want to marry a women tat has proper traing from the home to be a wife. good traing from her mother on how to be a mother in the future. i know my kids will get good traing ang be good children. it all boils down to the parents. I wnt my kids to have a safe home and good traing. this will make a job being a parent easier.

when i first did my search i like colombian women in cali. but doing future search i have come to love brazil.. the culture the music samba and soccer. brazil has not only latin culture but african culture too. not to mention the girls have great bunda's too

Thanks for your reply.  I am sure there are many countries where you could find a potential mate; but if you are a black man, and you enjoy the african influence in Brazilian culture, then I think you are exactly right about going to Brazil.  Best of luck in your search.

Like you said OkieMan, everyone on this board can relate to the AW problem.  I am 34, and the AW problem is no different than when I was 28 or 25.  I say congratulations to Gmellobrazil for figuring it out sooner than most American men.

Zed,

Thanks for your comments.  So, you are 34?  You are still a very young man.  I don't know how long you have been in your search for a latina.  Even though you are younger than me, you may have been searching in LA longer than I have.  I have been looking at the websites, etc for about 2-3 years; but last summer I made my first trip to Cali.  I plan to go back very soon.  I am currently working on a relationship with a calena I have been corresponding with via emails.  At any rate, you are young enough that you would not remember when things were drastically different with AW, but I do.  The crap that started in the 60's and 70's I remember very well.  At that time, I thought it would affect people living in California or New York, etc.
I never believed that I would go through 1 divorce; much less 2.  After that second divorce, I looked around and could quickly see that I could never trust any american woman with my heart or my life again.  So, here I am, working on the "latina dream", like all of you.  Best of luck to you in your search.

I started travelling occasionally (once a year?) to Mexico for work when I was 28.  That was my first taste.  And after meeting many wonderful girls there, and two trips to Peru last year, I'm never going back (to AW).  They're obsolete in my book.  I may not remember the women's movement of the 60's and 70's, but I was raised in a good Italian family (on my mom's side).  So I know what it's like to have good women (mother, grandmother, aunt, etc.) around.  And like Gmellobrazil said, we may be younger than many of you guys, but we've been through the dating wars too, and have seen how life is for our married buddies.  Thanks for the well wishes, and I wish the same to everyone on this board.  My mouth gets me in trouble a lot when it comes to this subject, and it's nice to know that there are others out there who feel the same as I do. -Z
