Hello All,
I just wanted to give an actual account of my journey through the K1 visa process.  I filed for a K1 visa on 1/27/05 with the Texas Service Center and I just got the notification of approval today (2/24/05).  The information that Gary Bala informed the board about a couple of weeks ago is indeed valid.  I live in Houston, TX and my visa petition was sent to the California service center.  I was able to determine this because the first three letters of my petition notificaiton number began with WAC.

Well, now I just need to wait for the National Service Center to do its magic.  I must say that I am very impressed by the one month turn around at the California Service Center, I had already prepared myself for a 4-5 month wait but it looks like things will be going a bit faster than expected............which I AM DEFINITELY NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT!!!!

Regards,
Nikkyo

Congradulations, much happiness for you and the lovely lady. Yes, apparently they have sped things up, when I applied in February 2003, they (INS) didn't approve it until late October....for a while back in 2003 there was even a protest group (made up mostly of US citizens waiting for their spouses and/or children) picketing outside the Texas 'noservice' center office.
