I can't believe I had been in this voyage for almost 4 years before I met my wife. I was on the verge of giving up on Colombia when we met and I have to say she made me a believer in the soulmate/twin flame belief.
I have made a couple of true life long friends in this endeavour and that alone is worth the effort that I've put into this journey. I have a healthy respect for anyone that have chosen to think outside the box in matters of love. There are some damn good people here and I wish those that deserve it the  success that I've been blessed with.
I truly have a physically beautiful wife and more importantly a beautiful person. She is truly unique.
I recently had the experience of a manager in a retail store approaching her and he began to talk about her beauty and hair. She never looked at him or acknowledged his presence. After I made the guy apologize for disrespecting me (I'm leaving out the good part), I had to promise my wife I wasn't going to return to kick his ass. It is amazing to see the attention she generates. I love it! Although she is aware of her appearance, she could care less about comments from strangers.
We basically communicate in english but when we talk about some of the stupid things people do in public we speak spanish. You should see the looks, especially from the females.
Be prepared for the lookers and have things for you and your wife to do together. We are taking dance lessons, have traveled, volunteer together (Red Cross, local hospital), and I make sure we try something new every week. The best is yet to come but the time is sure flying.
Wishing you all the best of love and happiness! I'm having the time of my life.

Slojas,
It sounds like you struck gold.  Congrats, but where are the pictures?  JimmyStLouis just put some on picturetrail.  It is inspiring to hear about you fellows that are already married.  It gives me courage to keep trying!  Best of luck.

I had a similar situation happen. We were in a salsa club sitting at a table and this clown comes up and starts talking to her and asks her to dance. Totally ignoring that Im sitting right there! I was kind of shocked because most Seattle guys are pretty wimpy and you dont expect that sort of thing. Im not the jealous type but I felt this guy was totally disrespecting my presence. I was like "Hello, $hitBrick Im not her brother" HA!
I dont mind if a guy looks/talks to my wife if he does not see me but if someone does it right in front of you thats just ridiculous. Did the guy see you there? If so he deserves anything you gave him but if not its hard to blame him. Hell when I was single if I saw a pretty woman with no guy around I would try to strike up conversation.

Hey, I agree with you 100% when it comes to talking to a pretty woman. I would have made the move myself, but never when a woman is accompanied by a man.  In this instance I was standing beside my wife while looking at an item that caught my interest. I am 6ft 200lbs and this little guy was about 5'9 and a buck fifty at most. It was a little comical and I remember thinking 'this little bastard has balls,' however, I will never permit that type of disrespect from any guy regardless of size.
I had the guy offering us discounts and now when he sees us together he makes it a point to address me by name and give me the inside scoop on upcoming sales. I was cool and composed when I straigthened him out and he recogized the error of his ways. :-)
Per the Okie mans request here are a few photos. Wishing the deserving ones the best of love and happiness.
Peace.

You and your wife look very happy together. I am glad even though I don't know you personally, that you have found someone who can share your life with and that you both appear to be deserving of each other. Congratulations, and I wish the best for your continued success.

Slojas,
Thanks for the pics.  It seems that you have done well for yourself.  I am not sure that I understood how your wife handled the sales guys advances? In your estimation, do the latinas handle this type of thing differently than a married american woman would do?  Best of luck in the future.

Okie,
She never acknowledged his presence, not even looking at the guy. I'm sure he must have felt stupid by that alone. I'm sure the response will vary from each woman based on their background. DID YOU CONTRIBUTE TO SAVE THE WHALE?

Yeah, I agree with you. If the guy doesn't see you or she's alone, then I can't blame the guy. Hell, it's nice to know that your wife is able to get that much attention. Normally, guys here in the US look for the wedding ring and if they see that, it's off limits. In Colombia, they don't care! While my wife was in Colombia and I was here waiting for her K-3 to come through, she had guys hitting on her even though they knew she was married. Not a lot of American men will show that much disrespect towards marriage. Which explains why she married a gringo.

So what you are saying is that she was just waiting for a smooth talking Texan to come along and sweep her off her feet?  How lucky can a guy get?  Take care.

it certainly has been worth the wait, hopefully others will be encouraged to wait and not rush into things. i've been seaching for a little over 4 years and have finally met the "one" for me. my novia is a jewel, i'm fortunate to have found her and she tells me that i'm the man that she has always asked God to enter her life. she is beautiful inside and out and also gets many looks from guys when we are together. i'm happy for the both of you.

Thanks to all for the encouraging comments. I did advise the manager that approached my wife to have his eyes checked and to thank his god that I didn't go ballistic on his stupid azz. Since he apologized several times I let it go. Still couldn't believe the balls on the boy. I give him an A for courage and stupidity.
