Aces bit the dust in the middle of last year.  SUMA is gone with the wind, it is now Avianca.  BUT that may change if the pending sale goes through.

Avianca web site is:

http://www.avianca.com.co/default.htm  (this is its main site all in Spanish)

This is their United States site in English:  http://www.avianca.us/default.asp?chapter=2
Look at the bottome of the page for current specials.  BE SURE and go to the upper left of the english page, click on promotional fares.

Your best bet for inside Colombia may well be AeroRepublica.  It's in Spanish and may be hard to find whatt you need.

Since Spanish is not a problem for me (I live here) I TRIED TO GIVE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTINOS.  Hope they work.

Go to AeroRepública web site  http://www.aerorepublica.com.co/

Open the site, go to the right to Resarvas select on the cities and dates of travel click on Continuar. Go to the right and click on  Volver a empezar  When the next windo opens click on Reservas, the small one at the top of the page.  When that opens go to the right and click on Tarifas about 1/2 way down..  When that open go to the bottom select the route and click buscar.

To find the schedules open the site pn the right hand side you will see Reservas  Select the cities and the date like Barranquilla/Santa Martacali and the dates of travel.  if this appears "Lo sentimos, no se ha encontrado ninguna ruta de Aerorepública para el origen y destino solicitados. Por favor regrese al paso anterior y seleccione una nueva ciudad de origen y/o destino." Means no flights. Select Bogotá/Medellin and if this appears you are good to go.

Vuelo de Ida (depart)
7500 Bogotá Medellín 06:10 AM 07:00 AM Ninguna
7502 Bogotá Medellín 07:50 AM 08:40 AM Ninguna
7510 Bogotá Medellín 10:30 AM 11:20 AM Ninguna
7504 Bogotá Medellín 03:00 PM 03:50 PM Ninguna
7514 Bogotá Medellín 04:30 PM 05:20 PM Ninguna
7506 Bogotá Medellín 05:40 PM 06:30 PM Ninguna
7508 Bogotá Medellín 07:20 PM 08:10 PM Ninguna

Vuelo de Regreso (return)
7501 Medellín Bogotá 06:20 AM 07:10 AM Ninguna
7503 Medellín Bogotá 09:10 AM 10:00 AM Ninguna
7509 Medellín Bogotá 07:00 PM 07:50 PM Ninguna
 7511 Medellín Bogotá 11:20 AM 12:10 M Ninguna
7515 Medellín Bogotá 05:50 PM 06:40 PM Ninguna

The fare box when it appears looks like this (Ida is one way and Ida y Vuelta is round trip.

Q $136000 $136000 Ida
H $246000 $246000 Ida y Vuelta
K $203000 $203000 Ida y Vuelta
B $177000 $177000 Ida y Vuelta
T $157000 $105000 Ida
N $118000 $118000 Ida"

Do get an idea of the fare in USD divide the pesos by 2350 COP

Aires at http://www.aires.com.co/ has about the same fares for BOG to MDE so it is what ever schedule fits your time frame

A la orden

ACES, SAM, and Avianca all merged together back in May of 2002 to form the Alliance named SUMMA.   In essence all the flights are now Avianca flying to 23 destinations in Colombia and approximately 19 international destinations.  I used to use ACES pre 2002 and at that time they were the only way to fly...

There is an airline that makes that trip but damn if I can remember the name.  Why not by bus?  About three hours(not that long by bus when you consider the trip to the Medellin airport, secutity bulls--t, the flight is on time, etc, etc, even though it is only 20 minutes by air.  Cost by bus is around $10.000 COP and the route is safe.

You can try calling AeroRepública, Aires, or Intercontinental de Aviación.  All three of these airlines have most of their flight destinations within Colombia.  I have used   AeroRepública in the past but I do not think they fly into Manizales.   I do know that Aires does fly into Manizales but I think you will need to connect in Bogota.  I do not know much about Intercontinental de Aviación but they do have some smaller planes that fly into some remote parts of the country.    Try:  http://www.aires.com.co/
