Jeff, I have been using picturetrail.com for a few months to show pictures and info to help a friend of mine.  It has consistently worked fine. It probably allows enough comments above each photo for your purpose and you can put a link under each photo to their PL profile.  

Your username becomes part of your URL so chose it appropriately.  I think we all appreciate your Asiansweetie site and hope you have it back in action soon.
