Charles Sems was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head near the Insular Waterfront Hotel in Davao.  Motive unknown.

Where did this info come from?  I work with a woman from Davao and she couldn't find any mention of it.  I am not doubting the veracity of the report, just looking for more info.

These kinds of isolated events have been happening for years. They aren't the "norm", and publicity of them is usually zero.  In the 80's I had a few briefs that discussed events like this... but they were almost always on loners, and usually, done in the street in broad daylight!  Not very comforting, but it's just another reason to keep your eyes open.  What the heck, the same thing can happen just as easily in Detroit, Atlanta, or LA.

Not good, I stayed there for a couple weeks just last year. Seemed very peaceful and nice people. I sure don't like to hear that kind of news.
