Believe it or not, I've spent the last two weeks really struggling with whether or not I should return to Colombia. I've decided to go ahead with my trip to Colombia on the 26th of December despite some legitimate concerns. The woman I met in Cartagena in September and resides in Bucaramanga has been somewhat unreliable. For example, after purchasing my airfare to Bucaramanga, she told me she was going to be visiting family in Cartagena when I arrived. I was so discouraged at her lack of consideration that I had given up on her. However, she's been very good at staying in touch and gives me the impression that she misses me and is excited to see me again. Furthermore, although she struggles financially, she has ignored my offers to help her financially. So far, she is the most compatible woman I've met in Colombia. She promised to be in Bucaramanga on the 28th of December. We'll see. If not, on to plan B.
As much as I like the woman from B/mnga, I've learned to not place all of my hopes on one or even two women, like I did in Cali back in September. Therefore, after Bucaramanga, I'll be visiting Medellin and using the services of an agency called www.colombiansweethearts.com. I've already contacted them and I believe they offer good value. I too am enamored with the Calenas' beauty, but I've heard so many good things about the Paisas that before I commit myself to a Colombiana from Cali or Bucaramanga, I need to meet Paisas. As crazy as it may sound, I want to be able to enjoy the inevitable trips back to my future wife's hometown, this is why Baranquilla and Bogota are out. I don't do well in intense heat or gray dampness. Anyways, I'm excited to soon contribute to this forum information on Medellin. I also like the idea of being in a place with fewer agencies and less competition.
I love Cali and although I am excited about visiting Bucaramanga and Medellin, I wouldn't want to go to Colombia without stopping by in Cali. Therefore, after being in Medellin, I plan on being in Cali during the second or third week of January. I look forward to finally meeting Pete E. and CaliVet in person, as well as all of you who might be in Cali at that time.
I apologize beforehand for not being able to respond to any of your questions or comments. I have less than 24 hours before I head out to LAX. Wish me luck and I'll keep you guys updated from Colombia. Merry Christmas!
