I got a little surprise from Travelors suites, they thought I was moving tommorow.I never said that.I think they pulled it our of their hat because they have someone else who wants the room but will not stay long enough for long term rates. When I came I told them it would be 4 days minimum but who knows how long after that.2 or 3 times the desk guys asked,I said I don't know when I'm moving.I also went over the rate sheet with them,$55 as day,$650 for 15 days,$ $1000 for 30 days.
Well things are busy in Cali with the holidays and the Feria.I don't think they wanted to give anyone the long term rates.Martha, who speaks english and is very nice, told me to get the long term rates you have to tell them up front you are staying 15 or 30 days.News to me,nobody told me and I thought I asked the right questions.
Bottom line the room I'm in is rented to someone else tommorow,so I have to move to a smaller one untill Dec. 26,when I am out unless they get a cancelation. They will give me the 15 day rate plus $45 a day for the days after that untill Dec.26.
I know you can wheel and deal when they have space, but when its tight its just the opposite. They want every room rented at the maximum rate.I can't blame them for that, just being very unclear upfront how it works, but that probably changes per their rational of the day.
Just did a little check on something else.James you were right.2 desk guys told me no charge for emcatel, the computer connection.I just talked to guy # 3 ,you guessed it,different answer. There is a charge,he pulled it up,a recent use was 5500 pesos for 18 miniutes.Thats $.11 a miniute. And this site is all I can pull up that I normally use.It won't open my E-mail.
Last night there was a party upstairs somewhere. The music went on untill 6.20 AM.I am a little tried today. They appologised and said they told those guys they had to leave today. We will see.
Tommorow I look more for long term places.I had been thinking just stay the 30 days here, try to get a better deal on the long term place in January.
I think I just spent about $1.50.
