I till don't have my computer working.I took it down to the place James said, parasella or somethingt like that and had a modem installed, plus they strongly recommended a surge protector so I went for that too.Actually computer prices were not too bad,a pentium 4 2.4 system with 17 " monitor for about $600.
After lots of difficulty I finally got connected to emcatel, the phone co computer hook up.But no page opened for an address. So I used internet explore on my computer and a page opened but after typing addresses I couldn't get to AOL or planet love.It said the page wouldn't open, maybe it is busy.It could be the Cali phone lines,I don't know.A 2.6 pentium works worse than a old pentium 233 with their phone lines.Always before with a new computer I just loaded an AOL disk.Wouldn't internet exlorer do the same thing?
I haven't done much but eat sleep, have a few cervesas and look for apartments.I guess this is a tough time of year to get an appartment.
Some people have said wait untill January and it will open up.The way the rates work at travelors suites I can stay untill Jan 6 for $660 more,so I might do that.
The leading apartment so far is in Santa Terresina??A little west and north of Junambu where I'm at.17 th floor, big place with grand entrance and a big pool on the ground level.200 square meters, about 2200 sq ft.Huge living room with a deak about 40  ft long. 3 bedrooms, plus I thinkmit had a little maids room too.3 or 4 baths,I forgot.Great view of the hills from the living room, view of the city from the bedrooms, its the whole building wide.$1,500,000,about $540 a month.I tried to see it again today but Inguess somebody is negotiating on it and they get first shot. They said maybe Tuesday we will hear.Tommorow is sunday so I guess there are supposed to be more places in the paper, plus we saw a sign in a window of a nice looking place near where I'm at in Junambu.howards salesgirl Diana is a real sweetheart.Today she was feeling bad because she had her braces tightened this morning.
My brother in law came over Thursday. He said the family is very sad about the divorce and knew very little about it.So I am having a lady translate them a letter. They haven't even told Rocio's father.I hope I don't run in too him before he gets to read the letter.
Frank S mailed me.He talked to Margareth at latin encounters, told her about me and even asked about a girl on the site that looked good to me.Maybe I will go over there next week. After all if it wasn't for chicas I wouldn't be here,so I guess I should get with it.
I'm going to post my cwell phone number here, there are some guys including Jim C that don't know how to get ahold of me and I don't have his mail. The cell phone is 310-385-3478.
I'm at Chipi Chapi again.Last night I hung around here late. The little bars in the center between the big buildings have coffee and drinks." Capachino Brandys and I couldn't sleep untill about 3 AM.There were lots of people including some younger girls who seemed to be checking me out.I guess if they were a little hotter I would have tried to start a conversation.
Unlike last time I've had some good food this time.I ate at Leon Carbons 3 times and crepes and waffles 4.Today I had baby beef at some little place on avenida sexta, the best steak I ever had in Colombia.3 steaks,3 drinks.31000 pesos, about $11.
Thats it except for a little post I will do seperately on a lady I met who can translate and do other things.

Good to hear something from you, Pete.

Now that you're in transition, get away from AOL; you don't need them and they don't deserve your business.

The people advising you to wait until January for an apartment are probably right; I know from trying to go to Venezuela from the U.S. during Christmas break that it's tough. Better to wait a few weeks until the competition cools down.
