Gentleman I have a question for you. If you already have had a
failed marriage that involved bringing up a woman from S.A. in
the future will I have a hard time bringing another woman into
the country? I know alot has changed since 9/11 including
taking our liberaties away from us, but has anyone here been
having a problem with this.

2003 Poverty Guidelines
Minimum Income Requirement For Use in Completing Form I-864

Sponsor's
Household Size--------------125% of Poverty Line
--2-------------------------------$15,150
--3--------------------------------19,075
--4--------------------------------23,000
--5--------------------------------26,925
--6--------------------------------30,850
--7--------------------------------34,775
--8--------------------------------38,700

Add $3,925 for each addtional person.

According to the chart, a guy that makes a little over $50,000 a year should be able to bring over 11 wives before the INS would cut him off.

I think the chart reflects the household SIZE , not the number of wives.....for example, how many children and/or family members one is sponsoring.......
In an intelligent response to Fuzzyone's post, I don't think you'll have problems with the INS just based on one failed relationship.  I would be worried though if I was on my 3rd or 4th though.
Good Luck!!!!

Yes, the household size includes all of your dependents which would include past wives you have brought here. In my case for example when I bring my next wife here. My household size will be three. It will include myself, my new wife and my ex-wife because I am responsible for reimbursing the government for any need based aid she may recieve until she has worked forty quarters or ten years.

Also I don't think anybody would have a problem bringing another wife here as long as there wasn't a question as to your past relationships being legit.

I knew you couldn't resist me posts. HeHeHe!!!

WOW, one big happy family, wife number one, wife number 2 and wife number 3. hehehe................how are you responsible for wife #2, when she hasn't even entered the country, and never will?Huh I doubt if she is considered a dependent, and I would wager that Olga isn't either, especially after she achieved permanant residency and a divorce.
I wouldn't start handing out immigration advice just yet.........maybe Gary Bala can shed some light on this.
As I stated in my post, and Gary Bala confirmed this in a personal conversation one time.........the INS will begin to frown on gringos who use fiance visas as means to bring endless numbers of potential foreign brides to the US.  After 3 or 4 you can probably expect rejection or a huge delay in obtaining the visa.

so will the embassy when they look at all the girls you have brought up on a visa. they have the final say, not homeland security, and they can do just about whatever they want. if they dont like the way you look, no visa.i know it happend to one guy in flordia, some lawyer who used the system to bring girls up for a month or so and then get rid of them. after he applied for # 3 they told him to get lost.

I am not responsible for caleņa wife number two because I cancelled her visa before she got here. However I do believe I am still responsible for caleņa wife #1 until she has worked forty quarters. If that isn't the case, it would be news to me.

Anyway I have only brought one over so far and I can't imagine that I would bring more than three more here before I reach retirement age. At that point I can just live in Cali safe and sound with my HAND GUN and I won't have to worry about bringing anybody here.

Sound like a plan or what??

I married in Colombia before, it was annuled and she went back (there has to be record of her leaving in customs).  Now Im planning on doing a fiance visa which should be a piece of cake.  I think if you can prove thier back in their home country your better off.

The ex needs to be out of the country? If she doesn't want to leave you are not likely to get her to leave.
That could be a real deal killer for the next marriage if that is the case.

Depends if she is still here, got on some kind of government financial support, if so, yes, you have to declare her as a dependent, like a child or ex wife you give alimony too. Also, the embassy looks at how many girls you sponsor for a visa, after a few, they get suspicious and will reject the request. I know of one guy who brought up three different girls from Colombia. After he petitioned for the third one, the embassy said no more.As far as i know, thats it. Now the INS or whatever its called now, might look at how many visa's you have sponsored too.

What was that old cartoon.Herman? Herman  is in the jewelry store with a woman by his side. The guy behind the counter is saying "you're not getting another engagement ring untill you pay for the last 2."
Same cartoon.Herman is standing at the desk in a hotel lobby. He is in a swim suit and there is about a 4 foot shark hanging off his a-s.The desk clerk is telling him "Sir,if you check our brochure you will find it says safe beaches. You must have gone in the water."

Im not an immigration pro,but I think its no problem as long as you have a legal divorce from the first one and you have enough income for the new affidavid of support on top off the old one you are still on the hook for.
