The banning of Batman is an outrage.  The only thing he was promoting was a lifestyle.  Others on this site have made reference to artistic photographs.  Others on this site have discussed the possibility of renting out rooms.  Why is Batman treated any differently?  Is it because he likes to party politely, spritely and all of the nitely?  Or perhaps it is because he's a bright young man who's nobody's boy.  In any event, I wish you all the best of luck in discussing which agency in Cali is the best or the particular merits of Brazilian vs. Colombian females because gentlemen, I will no longer be participating in this forum

Burbuja,

I am surprised at your position about no longer wanting to contribute to the board.  I have enjoyed your posts and your sense of wit.  However, don't do the I'm taking my marbles home routine because you happen to think Patrick is being unfair about posted rules.

Seriously though, how much did Batman contribute to the board other than a hedonistic lifestyle and hawking the "bat-mansion"?  Batman probably has a wealth of information to post about Brasil and Colombia having lived in both of these countries yet I can't recall any useful posts about his experiences.

Your contribution to the board being an attorney and having lived in El Salvador could be very useful.  I hope you reconsider and remain rather than complaining about a lack of freedom of speech/lifestyle/"artistic" photos and then splitting.

Pablo

Though Batman broke some board rules, he seems to know his way around Cali, so I'm fairly sure he'd be given another chance if he contacted Patrick and agreed to follow the board rules. Other people have been unbanned in the past, and other business owners post here - like Jack on the Russian board. They simply follow board policy when they post.

Nine out of ten guys, who swear they'll never post again on P.L., end up posting again for whatever reason.  Maybe they just like to hear people say, "pleeeaasse don't leave" or they calm down after a few days of r and r, who knows.  Anyway, just once I'd like someone to actually follow through on their outrage and leave.  (-:

Now, back to the supposed outrage.  You got to be kidding me, batman is all hype.  He's promoting himself as the Hugh Hefner of Cali and trying to find enough fools to buy into this fantasy at a rate of $125 a night.  By the way, I'm willing to bet the batmansion is really a batcondo, the giant private pool is the condo community pool and the batmobile ain't sitting in Cali but in someone's drive way in the States.  Anyway, there's nothing wrong with a one time promotion of a legitimate service, but this guy was non-stop on this for days.  Also, if you've been around here for any length of time at all, you'd know that Patrick does not allow excessive business promotion.  In my own opinion, I think his advertising is better suited to the TSM crowd which Patrick has made clear over the years he wants nothing to do with here on PL..

I'm not a prude but the absolute worst thing that could ever happen to the MOB business (for lack of a better word) would be for it to have any association what so ever with prostitution or the sex travel industry.  There's already a big stigma against agencies and marrying gringos for this very reason in Cali. A lot of the nicer women in the agencies don't tell their families that they belong to an agency.

Anyway, my own opinion is that few Calenas with any class would join an agency if they believed the sex trade was involved in it.  I'm not saying there wouldn't be Calenas joining up, but they have a name for them in Cali, they're called foofooroofas (sp).

Another term used to refer to those type of gals is that they "work for the DEA" {Hint the letters stand for something other than the obvious US agency}

I wouldn't want to give it away without some attempts at guessing.  I'd be curious to see how many others have heard that phrase in Colombia - 1st time I heard it was last week.  But OK a hint - 1st letter is Spanish for "under, beneath, down, below" - you can find plenty of girls that work for the "DEA" on avenda sexta.

Sheer bilingual genius, Dr. Holmes. That, and a bit of inductive logic.

Or is it deductive logic?

Well the other word is fufufura with accent on the second sylable. Now this one begins with 'debajo" but we're stumped on the rest.

Check with Mrs. CaliVet if she has heard it - I got the impression it was phrase unique to Cali, and not typically privy to gringos.  Debajo indeed is the 1st one.

{webhost contacted me today and informed me CaliGringo.com is queued for reload, just not sure what data will be salvaged in the forum yet - I hadn't backed it up in a while}
