While we are waiting for the fiancee VISA. It has been almost 4 months since the application I am having my novia get some cosmetic surgery (breast augmentation and saddle bag lipo).

Have any of you done this for your novias/wives?

What were the results.

It is costing about $2K.

I would be VERY  sure of the girl.Otherwise you could just be improving her market value for her to replace you.
But if you are VERY sure,go for it.Hopefully you will have many years enjoying the results.

After my previous experience I will never be sure about anything again. However I like this woman and believe her to be serious. I hope it works out.

C:

I remember my ex begged me for breast augmentation while she was waiting in Bogota for the visa.  I made her wait until 10 months after she arrived on a return trip to Colombia.

I had the backbone to say "Later", and I was crazy in love with her, and she lobbied hard for the money.  You can do it, too.  You're not going to lose her if you say "Later".

I am assuming that she gave subtle hints about the surgery before you asked her for it. Otherwise, I would think that most ladies would be offended if someone recommended that her breasts be enlarged.

She never gave me any hints she wanted the surgery. She was not offended I suggested it.

what is wrong with you, dude?!

you had real problems with a 'golddigger' before, right?

and isn't this current fiancee the one who asked you to pay-off a huge family phone bill? you've already expressed concern about her need for money from you.

what makes you think you know her enough, are committed enough, or that she really loves you enough, to spend all that money?

i hope she is a real super beauty, because something is making your head spin!

Just thought I'd add my experience to the subject.............
I paid $4K about 5 years ago for my soon-to-be-ex's tummy tuck and some associated abdominal lipo.  Her body was wrecked from childbirth, so it was an improvement - but not extreme.  I paid $5K about 3 years ago for a new rack (inserted through an incision made under the breast, in the crease, over the muscle, saline).  This doctor did an outstanding job, I was impressed.  I think she made the right choice not to get the extremely big ones - more natural.  Lifespan is an estimated 10-15 years before they require replacement.
And now they are being regularly enjoyed by a fat, ugly, drunk, illegal mexican....
Not that I'm bitter or anything....Wink
I also concur with the board consensus.........Maybe better saved for a return trip to Cali.....

... in response to a comparison to US costs......., posted by gkdrummer on Nov 6, 2003

I have mentioned this before but thought it might be worth saying again.  I spoke with a plastic surgeon last year in Guadalajara regarding breast implants.  He said that there were three methods of inserting the silicone implants into the breast.  Entry points are underneath the breast at the fold line, making a smaller cut around the areola, or in the armpit.  He never mentioned the navel as an access point.  He felt that the implant should definitely be placed under the muscle tissue because of sagging problems if positioned over the muscle tissue.  I can't imagine how painful it would be to have small cuts into the breast or armpit and then having a silicone implant poked in. Ouch!

Okay, with that said, I like to express a personal opinion regarding a woman who desires breast implants.  I know a few Latinas that told me they wanted a boob job and that they were determined to get them sooner or later.  You know what I thought?  I would scratch them off my list for a potential wife wondering about their motivation for getting such an operation.  (BTW, these ladies were not flat chested but they felt a need for much larger breasts than what they came equipped with.)  What was influencing their decision?  Was it the media, present day culture, comparison to other well endowed ladies, poor self image, what?

Personally, I would want a lady who was happy with herself and not one who felt the need to be noticed by men for the size of their rack. Call me a little old fashion or a prude if you like but I would rather have my future lady content with herself and all natural.  I mentioned this to two of the ladies and they responded by basically saying, "I'm getting them regardless of what anyone thinks, and that includes a novio or espouso".  Not my kind of lady.

As one Brasilian poster would say, Próxima! (Next!)

My novia does'nt have much of a "rack". I asked her if I paid for it if she would do it. She told me it was something she always wanted to do, so we are planing to do it.

That changes things entirely. She is doing it because you want her to.It was not her idea.
So you are not heading down the wrong road I don't think.Hope you enjoy them!

El,
I really would advice her against this. I know a lot of girls that had it done and were originally thrilled. But they pose lots of problems down the line. Though most girls eventually have regrets, they are afraid to take them out and face what their breast will look like if they did, because of the stretching of the skin due to implants. So basicly once they have them, they are stuck with them whether they like it or not.
I think sometimes we men force women to seek perfection to satisfy us. Though she may also want them, she should feel secure enough with your love for her and her body to realize she does not need them.
Funny thing is, most men would probably get mad if a lady looked at our private parts and asked us to have it enhanced because it was her prefference. There is nothing wrong with a woman who has a small chest. My last girlfriend was a very cute A/B cup and I loved them even though I usually would have considered myself a breast man.
I never realized so many latinas were into cosmetic surgery.I thought it was just Americans.

Your costs were for surgery done in the US or in Colombia?

Steve

PS: I loved your "Not that I'm bitter or anything" comment.  I don't know who's enjoying mine now and I don't care.  There's a whole lot of trouble attached to them (I sure hope she still reads this board) ;-)
