It's cosmetic surgery. Its about $2,000 US. I don't know what the limit on an ATM machine is but at $100/day it will take 20 days. She is planning to have the procedure next Monday. The doctors office will accept credit cards but they want a 5% fee. On top of that the credit card company charges me 3% on the official exchange rate. The wire fee is a flat $40.00 but I don't know if there is a fee on the other end and what exchange rate to COP they will give.

There is a % fee on the other end - I'd have to dig through my records to find it but it was nominal.  The exchange is the interbank rate.  As far as ATM - I recently utilized the ServiBanca's in Cali (unicentro location) - the limit per withdrawal was 300 mil, I popped that 4 times no problem in one session but the limit will be set by your ATM card host - so you may have time to utilize the ATM method.  As far as wiring, I believe you will be pressed to complete that transaction by Monday (1st wire takes awhile).
