CALI

How safe is it in Cali now, what is the elections and all. I am planning on going there in November but I am concerned about it. I am well travelled so I don't scare easily but I am also not irrational and just want to weight all avenues.
Anyone living in Cali now that can weigh in or someone that has been there very recently.
PS...anyone else planning on being in Cali in November?

Except for the ley seca, everything was fine in Cali during the elections.  Bogota had some issues but Cali was fine.  Worst thing was that it was so boring this weekend,no liquor sales so clubs werer closed.  Had to spend the weekend going to movies and I couldn't even buy a beer with dinner at Lenos.  Heed Travelers words and you'll be fine.  Enjoy. -TNC

I have lived here for 2 years 4 months. No problems, so far. I have 3 English friends who have lived for much longer than that. Martin has lived here for about 25 years and except for some problems about 20 years ago, he hasn't had any problems. Tony, and "Bug Scientist", has been down here for 33 years and he has never had any problems. He's from NY.
Stick to the cities, don't get stupid drunk, don't get blinded by beauty, keep your eyes open and you'll be fine.
