I'm not afraid of getting mugged in Cali and as far as getting yourself kidnapped, I have never heard of a GRINGO getting kidnaped with in the city limits of Cali or any of the five largest cities in Colombia.

I'll take any newspaper article as proof. Because I have been traveling to Colombia for ten years and I don't know of one. Sure you can get kidnapped driving from city to city and 99% of them are colombians.

Oh. If you are interested in beautiful women that don't want to split their country, it's all you have to do is go to the the mall or walk down the street of Cali. I bet all the women in all the agencies in Cali doesn't account for one tenth of one percent of the women in Cali.

Having said all that, I am still interested in any place that has a large number of sexy , beautiful women that are interested in meeting americans. So if the brasilian women are so camera shy, take some candid shots and post them. But, watch out for the photo police!!!

I'd say this discussion is becoming rather silly, but actually it's been rather silly from the get-go. What you say above is valid, but once again, *We're* *not* *talking* *about* *you!* Pete spent a month there at Christmas and couldn't find anything to do but post here about how bored and miserable he was; now he's talking about moving there permanently, which he should reconsider.

...y'all understood just how sweet and sexy Brazilian women can be. Do I need to explain that part, too?

Don't make me go find out where Big B has been hiding and get him started on this subject-- just take my word for it! ;-)

Probably the easiest short term solution.Nothing like a new hot honey to make you totally forget the last one.Thats probably what has allowed you to get over number one so well.
My mind is going back and forth like a tennis ball here. Cali   - other places   Cali  -  other places.

I'd follow the initial instinct, let's review the overwhelming activities that apparently are available in Brazil but not in Cali:

"In Maceió, though, he/they could swim, snorkel, deep-sea dive, surf, bodysurf, fish, spearfish, sail, parasail, waterski, jetski, skimboard, jog, walk, play table tennis, play regular tennis, go lawn bowling, go regular bowling, play volleyball, go mountain biking, go jungle exploring, drink from fifteen-cent coconuts, hold down a pair of coconut trees with the help of a good hammock, read in the sun, read in the shade, take Portuguese lessons, take Samba lessons, join a Capoeira school, listen to live Samba on the beach while drinking cold beer or caipirinhas after sunset, train their Golden Retriever to fetch beer and newspapers, visit orphanages and pass out toys, start up a pousada, get in a bus or car and go visit other areas such as Recife or Fernando de Noronha, catch a plane and visit the Amazon and Foz do Iguaçu...all without inordinate fear of getting mugged, kidnapped, or carjacked."

The only thing I see missing in Cali is the beach and deep-sea stuff, but that's just a short hop away.  Beaches are fun visiting IMHO, not living unless you just enjoy dealing with salt, sand and corrosion 24x7.  Guys like the beach because that's where the odds of spotting some attractive gals is promising - well those attractive gals are from Cali - stick with the source.

Where did this "Guys like the beach because that's where the odds of spotting some attractive gals is promising" stuff come from?  I adore the beach but it has nothing to do with girls and everything with it making me feel relaxed.  I live in Florida just so I can go to the beach or drive and see the ocean.  Pretty blanket statement on your part.

Just there is a big difference between living on the beach as opposed to living near one.  Really no point to the blanket statement BTW.  I'm a beach bum as well as a mountain nut - Colombia gives me the best of both all in the same day.

Yes, come to think of it, this whole statement is a whopper:

"Guys like the beach because that's where the odds of spotting some attractive gals is promising - well those attractive gals are from Cali - stick with the source."

Just to cite one of many, many examples, I don't think any of the ladies spotted on Praia Mole here in Florianópolis is a Caleña:

If you can do without the beach, Goiânia in the interior of Brazil is nice, and is loaded with pretty morenas. People who are from there just love it and many would never live anywhere else. I just keep thinking about how miserable Pete was spending only a few weeks in Cali, and now he's thinking of moving there permanently.

I agree
Once you get past the beautiful women, cali is a pretty boring city . It reminds me of when i graduated college and took off for a year. I moved to ST ThOMAS USVI. Beautiful place , plenty of women , but 7 miles on way and 14 miles the other way , ad that was it.I was so bored after 6 months that i just drank to pass the time. I think there are better places in LA and even Colombia, for a permanent place to live . But i understand Pete has frends in cali and it is a comfort factor. Damn Pete , what are you still doing here.  will be interested in all the reports of all the women you are meetng .
