Hello everybody. I will be going to Cali to see my Novia I met on my last trip to Cali. I have always stayed in Cali when I am there. My girlfriend however wants me to meet her family that live out of Cali. I was wondedering if anyone out there Knows of a town called Cerrito.
It is about a 40 minute bus ride from Cali. Is it safe there from rebels etc..? Would a taxi be better that a bus?
I would really appriciate any insight, advice, or any other info from you guys out there.
Thanks in advance

The sarcastic answer would be:

You'll be safe in a bus.  Colombian buses are invisible.

The real answer is:

I wouldn't travel between cities over land in Colombia unless I was in an M-1 tank.

El Cerrito is just north of Palmira, still in the valley.  I have pased through many times.  It's as safe as the area surrounding the airport, agricultural land.  Taxi might be a little pricey.  No problem with the bus through that region, problem is getting on the bus!
