Just a clarification: On inauguration day 21 slum/street dwellers were killed by the notoriously poorly aimed "gas cylinder projectiles/mortars" but no one stormed the presidential grounds and no cabinet members were injured.

Thanks for the clarification. I didnt mean to suggest that the asasination of Uribe's cabinet was in any way corelated with the attacks on inaguration day. Those mortars were indeed aimed at the Palace from what I understand. I believe most of the cabinent members were killed later on and some of them during Uribe's presidential campaign as well.
