Has anyone heard of this?  It recently happened. Last night or this morning.  One gringo was tied up with the workers and his money and documents taken!

for what it is worth,LE is denying this happened.i spoke to Alcira myself.I would suggest the "eyewitness" identify himself so as to ascertain the truthfullness of the situation.

I received an email describing the incident.  I am pasting some of it below.  Now, I know the person whose name was on the email sent to me.  However, the domain was a Yahoo account, which I do not remember this person having.  I cannot confirm that this is NOT a hoax, but the story is making its way around cyberspace.  I will follow up to see if the person genuinely sent it or is being impersonated.  

That´s not actually the most interesting thing ... Just before I
arrived LATIN ENCOUNTERS GOT ROBBED AT GUNPOINT! Alcira (worker)
called me at 9:00 to tell me I had a 9:30 appointment. Of course I
was still scratchin' and had to shower and shave and all that good
stuff. SOOoooo .. I arrive at 9:45am and sure enough there are a
whole bunch of police outside and as I enter 2 of the workers are
crying and the rest visibly shaken. The young lady I was to meet
(name deleted) was shaking like a leaf. Turns out that some guy came
yesterday and Margareth would not let him in. Funny thing is
he "spoke just like a Gringo! Sooo .. this morning he showed up
again and one of the girls let him in. Just as he started inside 2
guys came from around the corner and pushed the door open. Forced
all of them in one room at gunpoint and had them lay face down.
There was at aleast one American who I believe was relieved of his
documents and money .. the rest .. money.

The domain of the person I know whose name is on the message that was sent to me is NOT yahoo.com.  I suspect the person who sent me the email I pasted above is impersonating someone.  I believe the story is false.

Not sure of your source but this is total crap. Just talked to Alcira. Nothing of the sort happened. Sounds like a smear attempt.

Yes I can, Samclub is Sam , Ilove Latins.  They had their own incident a few weeks ago when money in a mans room was taken at the bed and breakfast.  Then a girl in his agency and a customer of his said the B& B house was repossesed, so they got a new office, then they sent out a newsletter to the girls asking for desks computers, pencils anything to keep the agency alive.  If you live in a glass house why are you throwing stones at Latin Encounters. He has been sending news letters to the women saying he is starting a agency in Cali. Looks like the Cali agency owners get to deal with the tactics he has used on TLC, Latindreamtours, and SouthAmericanLadies in Barranquilla for years. ENJOY !!!
