Cali to Cartagena

Wanted to see if anyone is aware how I can arrange to fly from Cali to Cartagena the day after I arrive into Cali later this month?  Can I make a reservation (or even buy my ticket) before I arrive?  Also, any vets know if there is nonstop service perhaps with Aero Republica? (I noticed that all Avianca cali-cartagena flights have stopovers either in Bogota or Medellin).  I am planning on spending two weeks in Colombia (1 week in Cartagena & 1 week in Cali) later this month; I fly in from Miami in the evening and need to fly out to Cartagena the next day.  Thanks in advance for the assistance.  

First time subscriber to this board however I have been reading it for a while.  Will be happy to post a report when I get back.

Thanks for the feedback.  I think I may have figured it out.  Going through the US division of Avianca yielded a price over $400!!  However, I called down to Cali (the number for avianca was 321-7862) and learned that you can buy an e-ticket with a credit card and then show your passport and credit card upon departure within Colombia.  Doing this and buying ticket with 14 day notice resulted in a ticket price of $110, much cheaper.

I purchased a round-trip airfare from Cali to Cartagena in early September '03 directly from Alianza Summa in Cali. The flexibility and options offered by the combination of  Avianca, ACES and SAM is great. I know they have a toll-free number in Miami. I remember that if I had purchased the ticket 14 days prior, rather than 1, it would have been less expensive. I flew with Avianca and really made the best of my layover in Bogota by visiting the historical downtown area.

Do you know where you'll be staying in Cartagena? Will you be using AFA while down there? I'm excited for you because Cartagena is a very beautiful city. I strongly recommend you get on that Chiva tour early on and also book the least expensive trip to Islas del Rosario because they stop at Playa Blanca. Enjoy! AeroRepublica does fly direct to Cartagena, I'm just not sure which days (Cartagena is the stop to San Andres).  I believe it was Sunday when they had non-stop.  At any rate, the Bogota switch is not a big deal.  aerorepublica.com.co
Yes, you can purcahse in advance.  Avianca has offices in the US.  I wouldn't expect to pay any more than about US $150 one way - and I haven't noticed  huge last minute penalties like US carriers.
