All,
My fiancee had her visa interview yesterday at the consulate in Caracas. We stressed over this a little like we did for the other steps of this process, but it went very smoothly.
When the NVC send approval to the consulate (approval only took 10 days after receipt of approval from the BCIS, then one day to send approval to the consulate), then all we had to do was come by the consulate on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 1:00 until 4:00 for the interview. We were waiting for the package from the consulate and it was about three weeks since I received approval from the NVC so I called them. They told me that she could just come by the consulate to receive the package. So that was three weeks of waiting for nothing.
Anyway, the interview lasted only 10 minutes, consisted of a quick review of the papers, then a few basic questions such as where do I work, what is my daughter's name, etc. No problem. She was sky high when I called to find out what happened!
Send her the money for the tickets that she had reserved last week, and they will be here on the 18th of Oct. I'm very happy!
Now comes the hardest part...marriage! I know I'll give it my best effort. My last marriage failure was definately not my fault...we would still be married if she was willing. But, I learned a lot from that, and will apply those lessons and I'm a better person through it all. I believe I chosen wisely, took my time and used my head. So at least we are starting out on a solid foundation. That's about all we can do...future success is not guaranteed but its the risk we must take if we are to achieve our dreams.
Best of luck to all...hopefully those going through this process will be successful as well.
Tim.
