Things have slowed down a little on the board so I'll post this one.

I just finished watching Laura En America.  It's a talk show from Peru, something like Jerry Springer meets Oprah in Spanish.

Today some young girl had a crush on a young body builder.  She's cute, but a little overweight.  He has another girlfriend who they brought out  later.  His girlfriend is a major-league babe.  Anyway, he tells the other girl he's staying with his girlfriend.  She's all upset and won't give up on the young hunk.  True love?  I don't think so.

At the end of the show the young hunk says he has a friend who is interested in meeting the other girl.  He's also a body builder.  They bring out this other hunk and the young girl goes crazy for him.  Looks like she recovered from her broken heart pretty fast.  She doesn't know anything about him except that he's well sculpted and in less than 10 seconds she's ready to have his children.

Seemed like I was watching AW behavior.

It is easy to laugh at that behavior but many of us men are just as crazy about physical appearance. If not now, then some time ago.

Perhaps so, but Jerry Springer type shows can't be counted on to be a window into the "typical" people in any country.  My wife thought this country was majorly f'ed up after watching some Jerry Springer shows soon after arriving here.  She didn't realize these were very unusual people gleened by combing through every trailer park East of the Mississippi.

I would agree that looks do matter.  I think age matters as well, but that's not a popular opinion around here.

Yeah thats kinda what i meant...Looks matter to everyone..age is a factor to everyone. Somehow somewhere a lot of guys got the idea latin women seem to have no interest in looks as though they being latin changes that. I didnt really mean to say that the particular talk show in question was a specimen of everyone. Just in general..Women are women, men are men, people are people wherever you go. The human animal..know what i mean? Smiley

Read an interesting book once, the Moral Animal, a collection of thoughts on how evolution has caused us to behave the way we do.  Book said that research indicates a woman's first preference is a good provider that's going to protect the family and be faithful and stay with her until her children reach adulthood.  This will increase probability her children will survive and reproduce.  But, say the woman can't find a good man who's going to stay around and provide for and protect her and her kids.  A woman like the overweight girl in your example, perhaps.  Then, she's going to try to find the best physical specimen she possibly can.  Several thousand years ago, before medicine, abundant food, etc., a sperm donation from the hunk with muscles was more likely to produce a healthy, strong child that would survive and reproduce.  So, if you believe she's the product of tens of thousands of years of evolution, maybe that's why she's ready to have his children in less than 10 seconds.
