Good catch.  And the word he misspelled was part of the same meal name that he was correcting.  ROTFLMAO.  I also remember him criticizing other people here for being "know-it-alls".

Couldn't remember the name, but that Lenos y Carbon place in the mall you mentioned sounds like one of the places we went to. It was very good. Only went to one 'nice' place while I was there and darn if I can remember the name of it or where it was (most of the time we ate at her house, she's a great cook and was using the age old woman's ploy of trying to get to my heart through my stomach). Popular (at least with my novia and her family) are the Cuban Sandwhich shops, which appear to be a franchised chain with several locations all over town....their featured 'Cuban' sandwhich is very similar to a US submarine (or hogie or poorboy or hero, depending on what part of the country you live in). Certainly not the place for a formal dinner date, but if you're just out sight seeing or shopping or such with a lady and it happens to be lunch or dinner time, I certainly don't think any of them would be adverse to eating there.

Michael,
The cuban sandwitch tasted pretty good, but if you open it up and look inside you might not eat another one.Its all this fatty gristle by product cold cuts.Turned my stomack to look at it.Last one I ate.I saw that alot in Colombia.Meat items that seemed to be a collection of the worst cuts of meat or grisle or connecting tissue or whatever is.I wanted to by ham for breakfast. The brought out this garbage ham loaf.I said no,Jamon, not chopped and formed by products.I forget the name if you want real ham.Pernil or something like that.I did find it.It was expensive by their standards, but about what you would pay here.

Girasoles sounds like a great place to take someone special or a good place to avoid if suggested for a first date. How expensive?

I ate there it was good but rediculously expensive for Cali. I was like eatig at a fancy US restaurant. I forgot how much I spent but it was around $60 for 2. The most expensive meal I ever had in Colombia. The place was empty as no one can afford to eat there.

in Cali in my opinion is San Telmo Argentine steak restaurant at Calle 44N #4N-173 a few blocks north of Chipichapi just off sexta in Barrio La Flora. Or if you want Brazillian its right accross the street but $$$.

Try "Frango" in Granada. Just don't order the lobster. Stick with the Brazilian dishes.
