Airfare deals for December?

I want to fly from PHX to CLO on the 18th and return on the 27th of December. The best price I can find is $1166 on AA. Anybody know of a better deal??

Hey CP,

I'm sure you're already aware of this, but you'll be leaving just as the Feria de Cali starts jumping.  Even for Cali, the amount of beautiful women that are out at that time is outrageous.  My wife tells me that some of her friends will be having lipo and other cirugias this month and the next, just to recover and be in prime form for the Cabalgata.  Anyway, give me a shout and I'll buy you a Poker or two. -TNC

Problem is your dates - Christmas!  You're a little too early to purchase for a good price - but, if you must have a ticket in hand - check prices from MIA to CLO, my guess is about $650 with taxes right now, then PHX to MIA - you can probably get a puddle-jumper for about $200?  Please let us know what you find out, and of course check other ports of exit (COPA is alligned with Continental and flies via the Panama hub, but you probably already knew that).

Hey prices on expedia just went down to $1123. Do you really think prices will go lower as it gets closer to Chrismas?

Actually I can get airfare from phoenix to MIA for under $400 and from MIA to CLO for a little under $600. But, to be able to make the connection for the cheapest flight to Cali I would have to take a red-eye out of Phoenix on the 17th and arrive in MIA at around 6:30 am and the flight out of Miami to Cali doesn't leave until 6:00pm. thats a 12 hour lay over. I think I'll pay the extra $123 bucks.

Maybe just wait a couple of days to see how the airlines fight it out - I normally travel AA but COPA's price right now from my hub is $604 - not bad, and I can even utilize a lessor airport (which saves a lot in parking costs).  It's one more connection required, but I arrive at about the same time - and I don't have to jog a friggin mile in that piece of crap scenario they've got going in MIA to catch my connecting flight.
