As we departed the airport and headed toward the northeast corner of the island, we decided that since the trip would take about thirty minutes or so, we would get naked. Opps, getting ahead of myself there.

On the way, I realized that most of the people on the island were very poor, and like other towns in SA, there were many people in the streets (and many beautiful young women by the way).

We arrived in about 20 minutes or so and started looking for Casa Trudel based on the information I had with me. Well, after riding around for at least another 30 minutes, and stopping at some really nice hotels, we were no closer in finding the bed and breakfast. Of course everyone was getting frustrated. No one we asked on the street knew where Casa Trudel was.

Finally, after asking some young boys playing in the street, we were directed to a portion of the Casa Trudel properties. The lady who answered the door gave us directions the bed and breakfast. We turned around and eventually made it after making some more wrong turns. It seemed that the taxi driver was a little dense. I also noticed that his Spanish was very poor. It was very difficult for me to understand him. Even for Dubraska.

Dan O'Brian and his wife, Trudy ran the bed and breakfast. He's from Canada and she is Dutch. For $35/night for two, I thought this was not too bad until later when I realized that this was far from the best deal in town. We were somewhat disappointed with our room because there was no air-conditioning, television, no telephone or hot water. We could hear the ocean in the distance and this was very relaxing. Even so, we enjoyed our stay because of the hospitality and advice they had to offer.

The neighborhood was really run down...the house across the street looked like it had survived several hurricanes but just barely. The second floor was incomplete...Dan told me that was common. Many people start adding on to their house and never finish due to lack of money for the materials.

Dubraska was somewhat quiet after we arrived at Casa Trudel. I believe that part of the reason was because we were speaking almost exclusively English. She speaks English well, but only when I take my time with her and talk slowly. The same for me with Spanish. It's amazing how well we could communicate even though we need much work on our language skills. With a combination of my Spanish, her English, sign language and ESP, we could communicate quite well. Over time, we were finishing each other's sentences and almost reading minds.

I needed to check my e-mail so I asked Dan about internet access. He allows his guests to use his computer downstairs. After checking my e-mail, I asked Dubraska if she was hungry and she said no. She does not usually eat much at night. We went to our room and stared unpacking. I noticed that she had brought enough stuff to last at least a month!!! She said that one cannot be too prepared.

She took her shower first and after I finished mine I realized that she was again very quiet. Before we had arrived at Casa Trudel she was talking almost non-stop.

I sat on the bed beside her and she asked me if I would get her a massage. I said "Sure!” I rubbed her back briskly for a few minutes then she said let me message your back. After a minute or so, she said that she needed to go the bathroom. I turned over and lay there feeling very relaxed, when I was blind-sided. The women tore into me like a Doberman with a t-bone!!! I was somewhat intimidated at first, but once the shock wore off I found myself lying in bed with the biggest smile on my face I'd had in years!!!

Dubraska later told me she had been quiet before because she was getting somewhat frustrated since we were talking so much with Don and Trudy, checking my e-mail, etc. She had been waiting over two months to jump my bones and was tired of waiting. She had a strong physical attraction to me as well as emotional. We had discussed love-making during our long distance communications, and now I realized what she meant by her statement about Venezuelan women being uninhibited.

As we lie in bed later that night, she told me that she loved the color of my skin, my nose, my blue eyes, my fine hair, etc. She said that she fell in love with me when she first saw my photo. I consider myself only average looking, but she loved me based upon the relationship that we had developed because of common interests and beliefs. Physically I am attractive to her because I have the "look" that she likes however she defines that. She had looked at many photos and I was the only one she was attracted too. So, I'd have to say that looks are very important at least at first for the women at least as much as the man.

Next, Part 4, Playa El Aqua, topless bathers and beach vendors

... in response to My Adventures in SA, Part 3, posted by Starman on Aug 18, 2003

I am new to posting on this board, but I have been an avid reader for quite some time. I have been traveling to Colombia for 2 years now and it has been a wonderful experience.  I will continue to go until I get married!!

However, I am interested in going to Venezuela.  I hear the women are incredibly beautiful so I have to see this for myself.  I am following the continuing drama of your experience and I look forward to the next installment of "As the Adventures in SA Turns".

Question for you.  Do you have any recommendations on a city to go and hotel for a newbie to Venezuela that is looking for that special lady?

Thanks

Happy,

The only hotels I stayed at were in Margarita and Caracas. We stayed at a small, cheap hotel in Caracas in a dangerous part of town, and we stayed at the Bed and Breakfast in Margarita (Casa Trudel). We stayed at her house most of the time (free room and board, free authentic Venezuelan food and sight-seeing tours).

As for as where to meet women, it depends on what sort of women your are looking for, i.e. a country girl, a big city professional, etc. One option is to place an ad in a newspaper in the town you are interested in, and have a website available for them to view information about you including your photo, then start corresponding via e-mail. If they do not have access to the internet, then it will be slow going through airmail. Another option, is to use online e-mail address agencies such as www.mylatindream.com or TLC. Just going and trying to meet someone there would be difficult even if you spoke good Spanish. If you are that sort of person maybe this option would be ok if you have some sort of viable gameplan. Remember that once you make some friends there it would be easy to have then set you up. In my case I was lucky since I went to meet only one woman and she turned out to be the one.

The women there are very friendly and open to meeting a nice looking gringo who presents himself well. They really are amazing.

Good luck,

Tim.

Whooshh, for a minute there I thought you were going to get graphic.  Just curious, did the islanders speak papamientu?  I was not able to get to Margarita, mainly because I failed on my research at the time and learned the hard way about the visas needed by Colombians - so we spent a lovely night in the Caracas airport and ended up in Curacao - great trip.  One of the things that was intriguing to me was the languages spoken in Curacao, typically everybody spoke at least 3, many spoke 5 - with the native language being papamientu (I even grabbed a book to learn it - beautiful language).

Actually, the taxi driver and some other people we met just spoke poor Spanish...a lot of slang. It's interesting that there are many words that are local to Venezuela and are considered profanity but have no meaning at all in other countries. Also, as you stated, there are other languages spoken there with many dialects. I'm just concerning myself with mastering Spanish for now!

I used www.mylatindream.com. At the time there where about 350 women and only a 100 or so men. Now it looks like there are as many men as there are women, but I suspect that most of the men are not actually paid members.
