Just curious as you misspelled your profession in you profile... We have had a flurry of trolls around here lately and any new poster is highly suspicious until they have been around awhile...

I knew there was something strange about your question, but I don't blame you for asking it. I hate trolls as much as you do.

When I type too fast and don't re-read my post, I can misspell even my own name.

Granted he was getting a little carried away at times, but maybe he just needed a little tap with a "smart stick" to put 'em back on track.  I don't think he had evil intentions - and I was curious to track his "internet" dating approach (Could have been a perfect lesson in what not to do).

I vote bring 'em back on a short leash.

I second that motion. I thought the guy was funny at times, but, I'm not wound up so tight either.

I think it is a German thing. Germans are well known to always think their way is the best and they are never wrong. They also have bad tempers but I really would like to know what kind of wife he is searching for? He seems to want a woman who never talks back, never asks or needs money and is at his call day and night.

Jim,
Patrick warned there would be zero tolerance untill things settle down.I can't fault him for that. After some of our recent long drug out negative threads I thought he might just get a little quicker on the trigger.
Yeah I think he was just getting warmed up but we could see the direction. He wasn't all bad but got negative enough in his last post above to get banned. He was interesting in a way but I was getting a little tired and stopped reading most of it.
You could still post your response. He could read it even if he can't respond, and of course so could we.
Now,since we are without flame war intertainment,it would be a great time for someone to post some trip reports or relationship updates.
And I am waiting for your impressions of Cartegena and what you find there for real estate opportunities.I know you haven't traveled there this time  but it sounds like you are doing it shortly? Ever consider Santa Marta? Its the next place I want to check out.

In my opinion all four of them were trolls. Aaron was just allowed to last longer. Their responses and writing styles were all very simular. When I said warming up, I meant he was going to lose it. Well good ridance, but In the back of my mind I know they are still here. jimc

PS will give you a report asap on Cartagena

Let me get this straight. You're dogging this girl because the girl can't get he day off to see you. You think that paying her days wage is compensation enough? What if she loses her job because someone sees her with you after she calls in sick or something? That's pretty selfish.
Jobs are NOT a dime a dozen here and the ones that are here don't offer paid vactions and sick days.
You know, you guys who come down here and expect a girl to put her daily life on hold for you, a guy she met on the internet or met once, is ludicrious. Hans wants this girl to do just that, but he states he wouldn't send a girl he's known for a week over the internet any money, but he wants her to drop everything for him when she is in the same situation. Why the double standard?

I agree. It seems on both this list and LWL many times the man's side of the equation is all that is important. When I see posts talking about using the K1 as a 90 day "test drive" I cringe. Personally I would never apply for a K1 if I was not already sure I wanted to get married. Also I would let the woman decide which route was best K1 or spousal visa as it would most mipact her life.

On LWL I have had several disagreements with a member who constantly states that it is the man that takes MORE risks. I disagree. We spend a few bucks etc , but the woman takes more risks.

A woamn that drops everything, moves to the states on a K1 only to not pass the "test drive" test, will most likely not get her job back. As Georgina and others have pointed out, jobs are NOT real easy to come by, especially good ones.

Also the women would most likely be embarassed to be sent home.
In latin culture, many times family and friends will assume she was not a "good wife" or novia. I personally know 3 women that remained in the US illegally rather than return home embarassed.

I've got a job, next payday I'll have more money. A Latina who failed the 'test drive' and returns home in shame (damaged goods) can't get her job nor her reputation back nearly as easily (if at all). Those guys who say 'Man, I'm risking 6 G's and she's risking nothing' make me sick.

Exactly!  Ralph you hit the nail on the head.  I know the "K-1 verses spousal visa" debate has been worn out.  The key is if both parties are totally convinced.  If you are convinced then it doesn't matter.  I was engaged once and I did exactly what you said, I let her choose.  She said K-1.
