Thanks for the flight info, would like to try that Lima agency closer to the end of the year.  Those high cheekbone Peruvian features are very becoming.  Front and center please upon your safe return with your trip report/Colombia comparison.

Oh forgot.. about the times....when you come back on Delta from Lima, you leave a little after midnight and come back at around 8:00 in the morning in Atlanta. ...As far times leaving Atlanta to Lima...I have left at a couple different times...around 1:00 in the afternoon ..and I have left at around 10:00 at night.

I know last month I paid 750.00 for roundtrip tickes out of Nashville-Atlanta-Lima on Delta through a company up in Jersey. I posted the # a couple months ago...so you could look through the old messages and get it. My aunt and uncle got them for 675 on the same Delta flight ..a couple days later?? go figure.... I would think you could get a ticket for 600-700 straight out of Atlanta. ... ... I did the Lan Peru out of Miami for Christmas for 530.00 ..but had to drive all the way to Miami ....which sux'd....but was lot cheaper than 1,200 each Delta wanted during Christmas. Well..hey I got to see Mickey Mouse on the way back. Smiley

I did the same flight 4 times now. Not a bad flight on the way back to Houston. Everyone seems to crash for the night. If you need a decent English speaking hotel to stay at or English speaking taxi driver, I can hook you up with a couple. Holler if you need anything.

My wife and I are off to Peru in a week. It seems that for every location listed in the Lonely Planet guide there's a "warnings" paragraph about how you'll get robbed. For one location on the coast I think, it even says don't get off the bus! Sounds like this is the place where people put chicken wire liners in their backpacks to avoid the slash and grab. I hope what you think you know is true...for our sake.

Well, in short, filed the k1 and finally got it. She came up here. Got extremely homesick, miss her mother and family a lot, which I can understand. Didn’t like going to English classes here, she studied English in school, but for some reason, she just couldn’t grasp the language, and she is not a stupid girl. Has a college degree and is very smart. Didn’t like the heat much here when it got hot, she is from Bogotá and it’s not exactly a warm place. She studied for the driving test for two months and failed, and that really depressed her, but she got over it. She loved my family and two children, but I think not knowing English well, and being in a foreign country was too much for her. I know some Spanish, but when we would talk, she would get upset if I talked in Spanish, go figure. After a while, it got really frustrating, but we worked thought that part. Her mother got hurt a while back, falling down some stairs in the house, and really messed up her knee. Then she hurt it again and was in the hospital for a week, after that, they sent her home, where she was bed ridden, and I think that was the final nail in the coffin, so to speak. She wants me to visit and move down there, but I don’t see that happening, being my children are here, and I am part owner of a family business. All in all, we dated for quite a while, year and a half, while I waited for her to finish her college, so she could receive her degree. Was it a waste of time?? I really don’t know. One thing I have learned from all of this is, its extremely helpful if she already knows English. None of my friends or family members speak Spanish, so she would feel a little out of place when we would go out with someone. Sometimes, it was very funny trying to understand each other, really funny with my 7-year-old daughter, who thought she said "sex" when she was saying "six". Now she is studying English again, but I don’t think I can wait another year and a half, so whatever happens, happens, but I am considering only looking at women who already speak English, and I know that narrows the field down quite a bit.
