I've been to several danceclubs here (which when defined means I am definantely NOT an expert in this feild) and they play ALOT of English music (though most know the words... they understand NADA!!!)jeje, Samba, Tech-no, rock, and once and a while some Salsa/Merengue "sounding" music.
WOW!!! They sure can Samba down here.... but salsa/merengue.... absolutely clueless. I sure miss dancing with my Venesualan, Columbian, Mexican, Equador, Chilian, etc. etc. friends!!!!!!!!! In Brasil... They tend to do a little wiggle and put their hands in the air alot, and call that dancing. (when not samba-ing etc.) It's amazing to me how (again.... my experience and perseption) most all of SA EXCEPT Brasil have alot of similarities in their music... and Brasil is separated with their own styles and music. There is not very much Spanish music infulence here... though they are starting to!!!!
