Hello Guys,

Recently i read some stories about the subject "tacaņo" (= being cheap..even some times greedy..).

I may describe myself as a cheerfull fellow and i am certainly not "tacaņo". I pay my bills...and never am introverted to give a first round in a bar.
i lived for some years in Argentina and Brasil so I guess I am allowed to give my opinion about this subject.
Besides that I also traveled in some other SA counttries (Peru,DR,Paraguay,Bolivia)

Offcourse please take in view take this is my personal opinion and maybe is NOT valid for all latin women.

Here we go:

Many Latina woman loveeee presents....little gifst..token off attention.(offcourse westernm women too...)
HOWEVER when I am paying for a woman her dinner (normal thing to do in SA) that does NOT mean we can go to the most expensive restaurant in BA were I have to pay US $ 120...or even more for 2 persons!!
That does also NOT mean I should give her money for going TWICE a week to the hairdresser or buy her every week clothes for 100 Dolars.
Just think if you live with such a "lady" in your own country!!!
I wonder what a hairdresser cost in USA??? Here in Germany they are quite expensive.

If women realy insist in going to such places I think there is something wrong with them.
If you are honest and tell what you earn (I am far from being a Bill Gates);in my situation a very average normal income in Germany;she should understand that those places are NOT for me.
That is also a reason I quite dating "professional"women....they are simply too demanding.

Once I met a Girl in Rio,i was new in town....and she took me to a  VERY expensive restaurant.
Offcourse I didn't want to be cheap. I paid the bill.....nearly 90 US $ for 2 persons (fancy restaurant). For Brasil at THAT time (nearly 3 years ago) a montly salary for an average worker!!

Many latinas want to USE (OOO there is the U-word!!) gringos for presents, gifts or even that you must support their family.
If you do not do that or JUST not enough they soon will cry out that you are "TACAņO"....and that you "do not love them"!! Yeah right....
I know many girls even give eachother tips in how to SKIM gringos...!!

Do you realy think latin men will do all this?? Yes...to a certain level.
BUT...my dear friends...latin men EXPECT something back in return!!!!
I am sure those of you who were in SA many times know what I am talking about;-)
If a latino guy takes out a girl to eat..and he pays...and nOT have sex with her. I guarantee you that this men will not date again this girl.....!!

Well now....this "lady" with whom I was in the expensive restaurant wasn't too intrested in me,nor in having sex with me. But OOO she played her part very well....;-)
She was merely intrested in having a GOOD time in a good restaurant!!BUT why she didn't tell me that BEFORE???!!

I learned my lesson.....that was years ago....I was naieve....not accustomed with local behaviour and language.

Now are things different. I know the language...know the ropes....nobody F.cks with me anymore you know. Unless I want to..;-)

For me if a lady does NOT want to "invest" in a relationship and always want s to play 200% safe....there is something wrong.

So I realy am not amused when I have a date with a braseilera and sudenly show "friends"show up.....because that means for me.....PAYDAY!!

I seldomly saw women pay their restaurant bill when being with a men.
It is normal in SA that the men PAYS all.....even for the Girlfriends of your lady!!!!

Well I am NOT doing that anymore.

Many greetings from a "tacaņo" German!

Bis zum nächsten Mal!!

euer Hans-Erich.

You have to be kidding. I have had some INCREDIBLE meals in Brazil. They have the best Churrascarias anywhere. I went to one in Sao Paulo that was incredible. All you can eat rodizio. They keep bringing meat on a skewer until you can not eat any more. They also had sushi, shrimp and seafood as well as veggies and salads etc. The meat was INCREDIBLE.

I went there with a client. I had 2 beers and he had a glass of wine. The tab? about 45 reales, which was about 15 bucks at the time. I would NEVER cook if I lived in Brazil. . . .NEVER.
