I received my NOA from the California Processing senter 2 weeks ago. The letter stated it would take between 60 and 120 days. Today I called the Immigration service and they said 5 months.

Which is correct? are the day calander days or business days?

Just hold on it could be worse. How would you like to go through the entire process and have her return in one month. The waiting period... as hard as it may seem is a good thing. It could weed out the less then dedicated. I feel your pain, I hope you never feel mine . Good luck

Mine went through Texas and (as many here have heard me complain) it took 182 days, now it has (supposedly) been sent to the National Visa Center 12 days ago and according to their telephone recording (they don't have a web site) they don't have it in their system yet. After it gets through National Visa Center, it has to go through the new 'name check' process, then it goes to the embassy...it's not right, they way they treat us, but just so you know (and try not to let your lady become discouraged) that's what you have to look forward to, you're in for a long wait.....of course if your girl friend were a sports figure or were comming here to steal my job, the proper 'strings' would be pulled and she'd get right in. Or if she were already here illegaly, she'd be given free medical care and housing assistance. In other words, the system sucks.

Hang in there!  It sucks yes, I'm surprised you actually spoke to someone on the phone.  If you can swing it, check out the meet in neutral country thing - start her visa process to whichever right now.  AA's got a deal going now -8th of August to buy - check it out.  Panama, Costa - or just plan on going to Colombia again - you'll get through it and we're behind you all the way.
