Hi, I'm new to this board, and to courting foreign women.  Right now, I'm communicating with both filipina and latin.

I have a series of questions for you all, and I appreciate your candid responses.  thanks in advance.

The first question i have regards preferences.  It seems most posters here desire columbian women.  Yet, in America, latinos comprise the largest minority block, and here in southern California, there are an abundance of attractive Mexican women.

Why is there no desire for latin women, especially the Mexican women, already living in America, who are not spoiled by American ways?  Or for Mexican women in general, living here or in Mexico.

Why the great attraction for Columbian women, who are often described here as being materialistic, fickle, and hot-tempered (American women traits?)

ps- I can use a bit of help with the acronyms (LA=latin women?)

Basicaly the women who are here are like the American women.Spoiled.No way are you going to find large numbers of very attractive women interested in you.And very attractive is what I mean.Look at some of our recent web site referals.
So one latina is not the same as the other. But hey,try it,its free, you are hear.I did. Not even close the quality of women available to the average guy.Thats why we travel. There is a reason. What a difference a plane ride makes.Like nothing you have probably ever experienced.Died and gone to heaven. The happy hunting ground.I'm talking specifically of Cali, the best of the best.

Senge -

I have traveled extensively through Latin America and I can tell you that while many Mexican women can be very attractive (especially those from the upper social classes in Mexico City), generally speaking, they are not the most beautiful of Latin America. But the reason men have fixated on Colombia does not have everything to do with looks alone. Due to the socio-economic situation in Colombia, you find the most willing brides. Supply and Demand my friend.

Speaking on strictly superficial based on my travel experience, here is the rundown of the countries with the most beautiful Latin Women (in order of country and city):

                   1) Costa Rica
                       -Central Cordillera
                   2) Colombia
                       1. Medellin
                       2. Cali
                       3. Manizales
                   3) Venezuela
                   4) The rest with Argentina and
Uruguay towards the top of the list.

Yes.. It is going to be hard for some of you to hear but:  THE WOMEN IN MEDELLIN ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THE WOMEN IN CALI.

And of course I have not included Brazil on my list. If Brazil was included it would probably rank first or second.

Hi Brendan,

Welcome to the board.  Your premise makes sense but if the amount of willing brides in Colombia is attributed mostly to the socio-economic situation as you say, how would you explain the lack of agencies and the mindset of the ladies in other countries that are also experiencing economic or political unrest such as Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, or Brazil?

Latin women in the US become Americanized.  Particularly single women, so there really aren't that many who are not spoiled by American ways.

As far as Mexican women go I just don't think the average Mexican woman can hold a stick to the average Colombian woman.  Even the attractive Mexican women aren't as good looking as the average Colombian in my opinion.  Recently I watched the movie "El Mariachi" with my Colombian wife.  I had remembered watching the movie when it originally came out in the early 90's and thought the Mexican actress who plays the part of "Domino" particularly stunning.  So now I am watching this movie with my wife and I realized the woman I had my arm around while watching this movie, was far more beautiful than this actress in the film.

Forgot about that one, that was the low budget flick created for the Mexico video market - then gained major studio release, great movie.  That sequel with Antonio Banderas is pretty good too (if not a little outrageous), great los lobos soundtrack:

Que me gusta lo mejor
Las mujeres no me faltan........

I live in Phoenix Arizona and there are plenty of mexican women running around here. Eventhought I am quite attracted to some of them,in general they are not as attractive or as stunning as colombianas in general. Also, I find that they are not nearly as interested in American men as Colombianas. I'm not one to bang my head against a wall any more. I simply go where the going is good "Cali".

Althought I believe there are other places in Latin America where there are a lot of women that would be interested in meeting americans, I don't think there are any cultures in Latin America that are as open to meeting american men for the purpose of marriage as the colombian culture.

I remember talking to one of the owners (the guy with the curly hair I can't remember his name) of TLC the first time they had a tour in Cali and I asked him "Why Cali and why Colombia?. He told me that they placed an ad (in the Latin edtion of Cosmopolitan) advertising for women who were interested in meeting american guys for the purpose of marriage. The ads covered Mexico to Chile and everywhere in between (I don't think Brazil was included). The majority of responses came from Colombia. Eventhough there are a lot more women in Mexico.

The bottom line is mexican women are not as interested in meeting american men for the purpose of marriage as colombianas and they certainly are not as open to the idea of joining a marriage agency or going to party to meet american men. I have seen a couple of web sites from mexican marriage agencies and the women on them basicly look like the maids in Colombia.

If you speak good spanish and have a lot of cash, you could try breaking new ground in Peru or Bolivia, otherwise don't waste any time getting to Colombia.

Dear Calipro,

I was in Peru aswell as in Bolivia.
I am nearly fluent spanish speaker as well.
I can tell you this about Peruvian and Bolivian women. (offcourse there are exceptions, but as a rule you can count on it to be true what I tell you)
Peruvian/Bolivian women are VERY (I repeat) VERY traditional and conservatieve.
Their goal is to become homemaker...mother...
Seldomly.....very rarely they aim carreers.....or the things like that.
IF youa re looking for SUCH a woman then those countries should be PRIME on your list!!!

Peu/Bolivia as a country is rather "save" (allthough lately the terroristas of the Shinning Path are active).
Also I think (especialy Bolivia) is very cheap regarding hotels costs, way of live etc.etc.
My personal opinion is also that these women can NEVER hold the candle to Colombians/Venezuelans or even Brasilian girls regarding beauty and spirit.
Again I have to say: exceptions are in every country...sure there are LOVELY gorgeous Peru fotomodels....but THEY are far from HOW the average woman looks like in these countries!!!

If you are older (say in your mids forties/end forties)....and loaded with cash and still want to "play""mammi and daddi"....you can get yourself a Peruvian or a Bolivian girl and do this.
Mind you......agencies are a Rarety here!!!!!!!!! Mostly only created for the "domestic" market and scertainly not accustumed for western (American?) men!

Most westernized SA women are Chilenas,Argentinians and women from Uruguay.
And with WESTERNIZED I mean their WAY OF THINKING!!;-)

I am NOT a saint (not even close!!)....not a proffesor....and nOT a millionair.
I just lived several years in BA and in Brasil and I speak both languages near fluently. SDince a few months I am "back home" IN GERMANY....AND iT'S KILLING ME:-(

I know what's in store for me in MOST countries. Colombia is NEW for me as I never was there. Also I seldomly had to deal with Colombians in my past.
For me Peru/Bolivia will NEVER be  a serious option for a possible life-mate.
THis will change when I am in Colombia in Oktober and November.

Up till now I am without words for the beauty and the spirit which I saw with the CALI girls....!!!!
I saw very many realy pretty ladies in my live (even married to one pretty Portena) but what I saw here BEATS everything!!

There is NO question about it......no discussion....the calenas are the MOST pretty girls in ALL of South-Amerika!!
I realy mean it.
That does NOT mean that theer are NO pretty women in Peru...Brasil....Venezuela or in Paraguay. Fact is that the PERCENTAGE real STUNNERS is AMAZING in Cali!!!

is this genetics?Huh Calanetixcs??? I do not know...Maybe some day some University will make a study on this fenomena!!

Hope this helps.

Your Hans-Erich.

I haven't been to Colombia, so I can't compare the beauty of Colombia Woman with Peruvian woman.

But, I couldn’t help myself and let this go.  I have to complete disagree with the part where you said that Peruvian woman's goal is to become a homemaker or a mother and they don't have any career goals. I think this statement is complete untruth.

I myself worked and studied before I met my husband when I was living in Peru and most of my girlfriends did, too. I still working and studying here in the States. Adding to the fact that I also have an 18-months old child.

I don’t know exactly when you were in Peru, perhaps 20 or 15 years ago.

Life is hard in Peru as it is in all South American countries and women are realistic about it. They know they cannot survive with just the husband's salary. They need to survive and they want to better themselves. The time when women stayed at home and took care of the children alone is gone (not saying that taking care of the house is not enough work already). Peruvian women know this and they want to study, have career and support their families. There are exceptions, of course, but most women in Peru either study and work or work. Being a Peruvian woman and having lived there for 25 years, I can assure you my statements are true.

Take care,

Georgina

Two new posters with back to back threads!  Bienvenidos Don and Senge.

I would agree with Cancunhound about Colombia and the number of agencies.  I know of no other LA country with so many agencies for norteamericanos.  It is interesting that Colombia has so many while other LA countries do not.

I spoke with one Mexican agency owner about this and he felt that it is a much different culture as compared to Colombia.  Personally, I think that it just happens to be a little more accepted in Colombia because of the number of agencies present in the larger cities, Bogotá, Cali, Barranquilla, and a couple in Cartagena and Medellin.  Cancun brings up a good point about being fairly easy to get to Colombia but Mexico is just a hop skip and a jump away with only a couple small agencies so go figure.  I wish there were as many agencies in other LA countries as there were in Colombia.  Could you imagine Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Chile, etc. all having successfully run agencies?

One aspect about Colombian culture is that many but not all the women do not place a big emphasis on age differences whereas many Latinas in the US are like their gringa counterpart and do mind.  Generalization yes, but it’s MHO.  If you find a nice Latina in the States that's great but there are many sweet SA ladies and well worth the trip(s).

BTW, LA=Latin America, LW=Latin Women, SA=South America, MOB=Mail Order Brides, others?

thanks for the info and the acronyms.

The mexican lady i'm courting is very attractive, and in los angeles, there are many very attractive latinas from mexico and SA.  The problem seems to be that the non-americanized ones are too afraid to date out of their culture, and the americanized ones are, well, americanized.

Personally, I'm too afraid of travelling to Columbia.  I think I can deal with mexico city, but not Columbia.
