Can girl freind live in Tijuana

I live in Los Angeles. My girlfreind lives in Cali. We have applied for a K-1 VISA. She has told me it is easy for her to get a tourist VISA for Mexico. I was thinking she can stay in Tijuana, Mexico and I can visit her in Mexico on the weekends while we wait for the K-1 VISA. What can she do in Tijuana durring the week? Is it hard to get work there? I don't think she wants to work in a sweat shop.

I would immagine the employment situation is pretty bad but maybe no worse than Cali.
Why not put her in english classes there while she is waiting? She needs to do that anyway and it would be alot cheaper there I am sure than in LA.Plus she could meet some people in the classes,maybe make some friends.

that if she were to hang around Tijuana for much time, LA would be a big disappointment for her when the visa finally arrives.

I know I feel a whole lot safer in Tijuana than in a many parts of LA.

Maybe some girlfiends.Women taking english classes at a school you have to pay for are probably above average people.
Here in the US my wife met all kinds of girlfriends,including a woman doctor from Colombia in her english school.

good luck dude, i dont think she would want to hang out in TJ for any long period of time. you could ask JEFF S on the asian board. he has a lot of friends there, but making money or getting a job, you need to wake up and smell the coffe. if you want a short vacation, than its a good idea, but stay there to work, no way, bad idea.

You can't support her in Tijuana for a few months and have her not work ??

Our immigration system is rediculous.  I'd bring her in illegally and wait in the US for the Visa.  When the visa came I would take her back across, then bring her in legally.

Yeah, but if she gets caught trying to come in with a coyote, they won't let her back in on a K-1.

The visa is going to take about 4 months or more.

If she visits for 2 months than we will only not see each other for 4 weeks on the front end and 4 weeks on the back end.
