it was an American wedding and dance . Well actually she's an American and he's of East Indian descent. They are both avid dancers and dance instructors in swing and tango dancing, so a majority of the guests were from the dance community. What was interesting was that out of the say 80 attending guests; about half or more were women. Out of those women, who were mainly 30 and 40 somethings, with some 50 and 20 somethings mixed in; about 30 were single (I know some of them and had the inside scoop on the rest), and about twenty of those were attractive to varying degrees. I was amazed. I was thinking, "Gees, why don't these women have husbands or boyfriends? "

Well, I was sitting next to a Peruvian man who knew many of them also, and he said, "You know its that these women just aren't interested in dating." and I thought," Man, he's right." Its just not like Colombia or Peru or some other Latin American country . There was no flirting, innuendos or "So do you have a girlfriend?" No, not at the wedding nor at any of the various social dance functions they attend. Just a complete different scene. Even with  the bride and groom who I know personally; she(39) and he (45): he like semi-dated and pursued her for maybe a year with great patience until she finally decided she liked him. I think he could have at any point married a young Indian women(you know the dowery thing). Maybe he thought marrying this gringa was some sort of status symbol. Well just wanted to share that with you guys. And how was your day.

Nick,
One of my friends talked me in to taking a ballroom dancing class one time.He thought it would be a good way to meet women. We found out real quick we didn't care for ballroom dancing. We laughed about it.What the hell,we gave it a try. After that experience I don't even want to watch it on TV.Looks phony as hell and the guys look gay to me.
Dancing can help your social life, but its not likely to get you anything like a beautifull Colombiana.
I had a friend once who always had women. He was tall, played golf and bridge, and didn't care if the woman was older than him.The last point being the biggee. He got married for about the third time. The lady even has a Colorado Ski condo and a house in Palm Springs. But a beauty she is not.
I guess he is not a visual like me.

Hey Pete,
Ballroom dancing or any dancing for that matter is not a good way to meet women. Or at least American women.Wait I take that back , you can actually meet alot of women, but nothing happens beyond that nor as you say can they compare to what you can get in Colombia.
Anyway how have you been Pete? Are you still planning on taking your trip to Cali. I may be going back in August. Pete have you ever eaten at Simon Parillas? Its hands down my favorite eatery in Cali. It would probably be a heck of an investment for some gringo who wants to live in Colombia as I don't know if there is one in such cities as Medellin and Baranqullia and definitley not in Bogota. You could make a killing . Actually I think the concept would also work well in such places such as Miami and southern California. Anyway let me know how you are doing.
