I realize this action is not viewed favorably by members of the board (That's why I posted that "don't go there" message above).  Recall CaliPro originally posted he didn't want to go into the details of all the events.  The fact is this is life in Colombia.  Recall that CaliPro was in the US and his life was at stake.  I would not have taken that threat lightly for one minute.  Walk like an Egyptian.  An appropriate Colombian expression comes to mind:

Nunca olvides 'DAR PAPAYA...'

1) Nunca de papaya

2) Papaya servida. Papaya comida!!!!

Ask any Colombian and they'll tell you the significance of it. Very helpful.

He was in the U.S., and his life was at stake?? In other words, this girl's boyfriend was going to make a phone call and have CaliPro killed, here in the U.S.??  I don't believe that for one minute.

I live in Phoenix AZ. The guy was calling me daily from Cali threatening to have someone come to my house and kill me. He had my home address and work address and the phone numbers to my cel phone and my home phones.

Although my wife is only nineteen here colombian boyfriend is 33 years old and her family confirmed the fact that he has friends living here in Phoenix.

I normally do not take death threats all that seriously because if I was going to really kill somebody, calling them up to tell them about it is the last thing I would do.
But, this guy was very persistant and the threats went on for about two weeks before I decided to take action.

He did have demands that he wanted met, like don't call his girlfriend (my wife) anymore and cancell the visa. I don't really respond to threats very well and the last thing I was going to do was listen to him. I guess if I was worried about making enemies in Cali, I would have just walked away and never looked back. But, in the end I have to live with myself and that just isn't me.

Ouch!  Seems like the Colombian lawyer could answer that one and if you have her Cedula #, you should be able to track her down with that pretty easily.  I believe it can be found on your notarized marraige papers that you would have processed in Cali.  IMHO worth every bit of $300 to get that "monkey" off your back.

Pursue an annulment.Check with several lawyers.The guy you have may just want he $$ for a divorce.Like other Colombians,you don't automatically believe what they say.

Yes, her name is Viviana and the photo was taken at Ricardo's place.
