You should always take something long-sleeve to Bogota... You see lots of leather jackets in Bogota... The temperature varies between 65 and 80, year round... If it's cloudy and rainy (most of the time), it get rather chilly, expsecially at night... If the sun is out, it gets hot quickly due to the altitude... A term I'm sure you're familiar with in Denver, "layer"...

Enjoy your trip...

yeah, Pick up a small umbrella too.  I would only suggest bringing a sports coat and a small jacket to wear over your shirt when you go really casual.

If you have something on your arms (so to speak) you're fine be it a sports coat or a small casual jacket.

Being that you are from Denver, I wouldn't worry too much. I have lived in Michigan for the past couple of years and I didn't find the weather to be cold at all. There was a morning or two between 6-10 where I needed my small jacket while sitting on the breakfast bar in LAI, but thats it.

Its more important to have some warm sleep wear or something just to lounge around the hotel room in on those lazy mornings.

Onephd I was going to take Wizard up on his advice and take a leather jacket especially for going out for dinner or dancing. I also have a small sporty(North Face brand) casual jacket(very popular here in Denver) I'm taking along. would you recomend I take a long johns for sleeping lounging around the hotel? I'm naturally pretty  resilient against the cold

don't know about the leather jacket, I saw some folks with them, but they were colombian.  I also some of them wearing scarfs around their faces in the morning.  That was wayyyy too much given the temp.  I really don't think you will have a problem with the cool weather.

Like I said, a small jacket to wear around in the evenings when you go out.  If you dress up a blazer will be enough in my opinion.

and yes a pair of long johns might be nice for sleeping in. or just sitting around the room in the hotel.

hope this helps..

Nico in the evening in the hostel in Bogota I wore a pile jacket to stay warm. Didn't need it in the daytime.
