I am full of questions today.  I would like to know everyones experience with religion and the LAtina.  I know the majority of people in Colombia refer to themselves as Catholics.  Does this become an issue at all?  Weather its during the wedding,  or attending a particular faith once they are in the US.

Every girl I met there except for one considered herself Catholic.  They had no idea what the doctrine of the Catholic church was or anything involved.  I was under the impression they were baptized as a child and that was pretty much the extent of it.

I make it a point to mention religious values in my initial meetings with ladies.  I have met 3 general types.  One is evangelicals who need a man to be religious and go with them to church and church functions.  Another is religious but not strongly affiliated with any organization.  These ladies preferred a man who believed in something.  He didn't need to be of a particular religion, or believe in the traditional God, or the same thing she believed in.  The last is ladies who were not religious or concerned about a man's religion.  Of the women I have met in Brazil, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, the second category was the largest and the third the smallest.
