The little lady and I are scheduled to have the interview for conditional residency this Thursday.  The INS wants proof of marriage.  Are photos from our honeymoon along with bank statements showing that we have had a joint checking account since the date of marriage sufficient?  Also, what kind of questions do they ask?

At our interview (Memphis) we were asked a few questions designed to trip us had we been faking, things like the names of my wife's parents and brothers, birth dates, stuff like that. I was asked why I wanted to go South when there were so many available here, lol. I told the truth, might have stepped on toes, not sure. Our interviewer was very polite and courteous, treated us kindly, and ours only took a few minutes. We took alot of evidence, alot of photos of us together, evidence of my trips to Peru, any mail that was addressed to my wife at our home, etc.

Our interview was very straight forward and only took a couple of minutes.  The questions were more of the daily chit-chat routine type - no need to worry about preparing for them.  My wife still had limited english at the time and the lady spoke no spanish.  They were really just looking to see if you appeared like a "normal couple".  Definitely not the type of questions like portrayed in that movie "green card" with Andie MacDowell.  Our interviewer was very cordial and I recall it being very pleasant to actually speak to somebody with the INS in PERSON. Your joint account and anything else - bring it just in case.  In my scenario - I had no joint account and the lady did ask me why not?  I just bascially said in joking fashion - "are you crazy - she likes to shop alot more than I do!"
