My fiancee...from Cali visa was approved and my paperwork is on the way to Bogota as I write... this long process is finally coming to a close.

You've completed a major part of the process but it ain't over till it's over and it ain't EVER over.

I'm sure you've read here there are still little hurdles to get over. She has to get all of her paperwork completed and without your help unless you talk her through it on the phone.

Then there's more waiting.

Then she can finally go for her medical exam and interview. Then there's the possibility of a snag and more waiting.

Make no assumptions. Make sure you go over everything with her. Don't let her slide on anything. Now is a good time for her to understand how the US government works because she's going to get more of it when it comes time to coming to the US, getting an adjustment of status (after the wedding), advance parole (to travel outside the US and re-enter) and eventually becoming a resident and hopefully a citizen.

Be patient. It will all come together. It's worked in the past for countless others and it will all work out for you.

One tip, don't make plane reservations until she's got the visa in hand. I made that mistake and had to pay the price for her and me.

Thanks so much for the tips. I've been at this process since 1997 I made some trips to Cali and made some friends. I'm using a guy I met in Cali his name is Gonzalo, his company is sector international. He basically know's all the in's and out of the American/Colombian  fiancee visa/marriage rules. I've seen the guy at work and he's good real good. I attended a wedding in Cali he was responsible for. I can't say enough good stuff about him. He's doing my fiancee's paperwork helping her through it.
This process has been a long one. My fiance is good friends with one of the old big agency's owners wife. We have been dating 2 years this June and it's time. I'm 42 she's 28. She is the most loveable, sweet ,sexy, and considerate women I've ever met. I learned this over the last 24 months and several trips. Since you've been working at this for years you've probably seen and heard a hundred different stories. Yours is almost at a happy conclusion.

Just be patient, something I'm very bad at, but it all does work out.
