Just returned form a trip to Cartagena.  I had a great time and hooked up with just one young lady.  The second night there we did a 5 hour Salsa concert. It was pretty cool - people dancing all over the place (lots of Rum as well).

I also went to LA ISLAS DE ROSARIO.  It is a resort Island about 2 hours off the coast.  There is also an SEA WORLD there with dolphins, sharks etc.

San Phillipi is a main attraction - I did that last time I was there.  The PALACE OF THE INQUISITION was closed for restoration  as was the oldest church in the city SAn Domingo.

I was able to spend alot of time with her because it was holy week.  She is intelligent -  has a college degree - is pretty and enjoys my company immencely and is a little younger and seems to depend on me more than I expected, i.e., decision making etc.  I think this younger woman selection is gonna work for me.  She mentiond most men here dont marry till there 35 or so anyway.

I meet her on Amigos .com  she had no picture posted, but when I asked she sent it.  She had no intention of meeting an American for a relationship, but she is glad she meet me.

Good luck to all...

Ken

I am going to Cartagena in May.  My novia also wants us to take the bus from Cartagena to Baranquilla so she can show me what Baranquilla is like.  She claims it is safe.  Has anyone done this?

I've done it several times, the last time in March a year ago. It's safe. I think buses make the trip hourly or more. Be sure and try the arepa with an egg inside sold by the vender who gets on the bus about midway. Supposed to be the best "arepas con huevo" anywhere.

I don't think you'lll have a problem as Cartagena is the safest place in the country.   It is about 1 1/2 hours travel on an interstate with lots of traffic.  Piece of cake.
