My phone just rang and it was my Colombian ex-wife.  We haven't spoken since she last called about October, 2002.  I saw her one night when I took my wife to a local Colombian restaurant about November, 2002, but we didn't speak.

First she wanted me to contact South of the Border and ask them to remove my testimonial.  During happier times I sent a glowing testimonial to SOTB and they are still proudly running it on their website.  To make matters worse I included both of our names and she is now advertising (at least on Latin-Euro) for another gringo.  I'm sure some are making the connection and it is causing her some embarassment.

Then she asked me if I would prepare her tax return for a fee.  I told her (in a gentle way) that there's not a chance in hell I will do that even for $1000.  My wife would be "puterica" (I think is the correct slang).  She's by far the most jealous woman I have ever met.  At least she's not violent.  I recommended that my ex look for a copy of TurboTax.

I'm sure this is not the last that I'll hear from my ex.

Sounds like no more empaņadas at Casa Vieja for awhile!
Now that sounds tough to bear!  PS - is there such a thing as a Colombiana that is not the most jealous woman on earth?

We've been going to La Esperanza off the President Bush Tollway.  I think the food is better and the price is cheaper.

Is that the one at Trinity Mills and Josey in the Target shopping center? The sister of the woman who owns Casa Vieja owns it. Another sister works as a waitress at both of them (which ever one needs her that day, I guess). I got a pollo asada to go there (Esperanza) once, way too much garlic. I haven't tried anything else they have yet. I didn't really study the menu when I was picking up the chicken, but I thought the prices would be about the same. Casa Vieja is debating about taking over the vacant store front (the old Hispanic Yellow Pages) next door to expand their dance area.

Haven't tried that one - what intersection is it near?
FYI - the Houston Consulate is scheduled to hold a mobil location at Casa Vieja next Wednesday, Apr. 9th (details on their website) - should anyone in Dallas need anything processed - beats that whip of a drive down to Houston.

La Esperanza (I'm pretty sure that's the name) is located at the Northeast corner of Josey and the Bush Turnpike (used to be Trinity Mills).  It's about 10 stores to the left of the Target store.  If you need their phone number I think Casa Vieja would give it to you.  They told me the owners of the two restaurants are sisters.  I thought the tall, quiet guy was the owner of Casa Vieja but I guess not.

Looks like we were writting at the same time, hee, hee, you answered my question. The tall guy is the owner's husband, but the woman (darn it, what IS her name??? I'll come to me) actually owns the place. There's suppossed to be one more Colombian resturant in town, further south on Josey, like around Valwood maybe, but I've never actually been to it.
