Scary TV show

My novia told me today that she saw a show on TV in Colombia in a program called "Archivos Secretos". It is one of these expose type programs that dramatize real life situations. She said it was of a man from Florida or Texas that married a Colombiana he met in a marriage agency at Cali. The show goes over all the horrors that she supposedly endured: he was married three times, he was jealous and wouldn't let her out of the house, he would beat her and so forth. My novia said that whenever she mentions that she has a gringo boyfriend people refer to this show and say to be careful. Has anybody else come across this show? Apparently, the US exploitation of fear "reality" programs have been successfully transplanted to Colombia. American culture stinks.
