Guys,

Can anyone recommend a travel agency specializing in Colombia?

I need to do three kind-of-difficult things:

1.  Book a roundtrip flight for myself from Miami to San Andres Island (I heard it's possible to go direct, but everything I've seen connects in Bogota.  Does anyone know anything about this?)

2.  Book a roundtrip flight for my novia from Bucaramanga to San Andres.

3.  Reserve a hotel in San Andres.  (Any recommendations?)

Thanks a lot.

(1) For MIA - ADZ, there are currently no direct flights - and  since the standard route would include a stop in Bogota - consider the backdoor route that goes thru SJO or PTY that could save you some bread.  Taca often beats AA to these destinations:

From there, you take a puddle jumper to ADZ on West Caribbean Airways (a Colombian airline):
http://www.wca.com.co
(2),(3) Viajes Oganesoff is one of the most respected travel agents in Colombia - toll free number Bogota: # 018000 224422, you could have your girlfriend do the legwork.

You definitely will save by paying with your credit card in Colombian Pesos and purchasing in Colombia.  The Colombian airlines offer incredibly cheap all-inclusive packages to Cartagena, San Andres and Santa Marta, to name a few - with San Andres being the most costly.  Unless you're deadset on San Andres (or even if you are), have your girlfriend  check the local paper for current hot specials.  I recently visited Santa Marta and found the beaches of Parque Tayrona to be incredible - not near as touristy or expensive as San Andres.

I'm going to be in San Andres for a few days in April. I can give you the email of the travel agent I used if you like. A 5 day package was 524us including round trip air for two from Bogota. Its a new hotel called the Decameron San Luis, i'm told its 5 star with a private beach but i've learned that rating systems are highly subjective in Colombia. I'll post a trip report when I return.

The email address is natours@andinet.com...better that your girlfriend makes the arrangement if you want the "local" price. Another website to check out is www.westcaribbeanisland.com/1default.asp.

I have booked my travels and packages to Colombian tourist destinations like Capurgana, Bahia Solano and Isla Providencia through Comfenalco in Cali. Speak (Spanish only) to Anjela Maria there at T:8862686.
