The money came from the Cali mafia, the muscle came from
Los Pepes ( CastaNo and all those who wanted revenge ),
the intelligence came from the CIA and the DEA and the
Colombian security forces, and the quarterbacking came
from the Colombian army.
It is interesting to contrast Mark Bowden's story,
where CastaNo is hardly mentioned, with his own, where
the spotlight is placed upon Los Pepes themselves, and
not the high-level govt. players.
