... in response to Protest in Chile, or Why I love liberals, posted by DallasSteve2 on Mar 1, 2003Steve,
Looks like a better idea than going to Iraq and camping out at a site of a military target. Can you hear the whining now if one of those idiots gets toasted?
Probably similar to here they are influenced by the circle they travel in,as in College with its leftist proffesors.
I saw a report by a guy on TV the other night where he was asking protestors what their solution was. They really didn't have one, just were against any war. There were some really stupid responses.
About this inspection and contaiment idea.Saddam threw out the inspectors in 1998.The only reason he is even going along with it at all now is the military threat from the US.If we bring our troops back its back to the same old BS.
We made a mistate not taking him out last time we were there. But that was because of very limited and timid goals. We just wanted him out of Kuwait. That was very short sighted and gutless.Bush senior even encouraged the Kurds to rebel and then stood back and watched Saddam slaughter them.He was a f--king wimp.Margaret Thatcher had to kick his butt to get him to do anything in the first place. She had more balls than he did.An excuse was they didn't want to destablise the region.Saddam is better than uncertainty?
Bush Jr has 3 advantages.
1st he didn't spend a career as a beuracrat working himself up to president, trying to ride political fences.
2nd.After 9/11 we have finally developed some guts in this country. It takes alot to stir the sleeping giant out of carefull complacency.
3rd. We finally have a somewhat balenced media that not only worries over the consequenses of action but considers the consequenses of inaction.
