Every few months or so I get a TLC photomag in the mail.  This is like their condensed photomagazine - it has 200 or so women.  We are on their mailing list.

My wife always likes to check them out (o.k. - I do also.  Even if you are on a diet, there is no harm in looking at the menu) and she has noticed that in the last issue there was a popular model and television personality - Catalina Aristizabal listed.  This is kind of strange because you would not think she would be looking for a gringo husband through TLC.

Sure enough today we received another one and there is a true supermodel in there - Carolina Castro.  Everything in her profile matches:  (24) COL 5'11" 121 lbs.  Student/Model. Volleyball, yoga, arts and crafts.  Seeks someone who is respectful and outgoing.  EE (excellent english) VISA (she has a U.S. tourist visa).  This girl is a very popular model and there was a feature story about her in Cosmopolitan.

This raises some questions and is mysterious to me.  Are they really sending in their pictures to TLC or is someone playing a trick on them and sending in the material or is TLC spiking their photomags with supermodels??

I am going to try to set my friend Nick up with Carolina.  He likes women that are taller than him.  Or maybe James or Denny.

El Gordito.

... in response to Supermodels in TLC, posted by Edge on Feb 13, 2003

Ya know.............?
Some of you guys know about what I do and about my websites. Every once in awhile I have some of my photos show up on marriage agency websites. No big deal, I don't care if a girl uses a photo I took of her. But, just out of curiosity I'll ask her if she is in the agency. I do this because my photos are almost always used from the Models info page and, of course, you can save any photo from the internet. A lot of girls say that they did not know their photo was being used. Now, I don't know if they maybe embarrassed that they are in a marriage agency and aren't telling the truth or they really don't know their photo is on a marriage agency website. One girl picked up the phone and called them up on the spot and gave them an ear full. That photo was pulled within minutes.
Now there is some escort agency in Bogota stole some photos from my site and put them up on thier site. Except they pixeled out the face and superimposed their name over my text on the photo pointing you to my site. Well, we sic'ed DAS on them but you know, law enforcement in South America..... We didn't pay them, so not much is probably being done about it. Heck, they were the ones who brought it up. LOL!
Anyways, I don't care if my photos show up on the marriage agency websites, as long as the girl is truly in the agency. But, I know from past experiences that it does happen.

Could very well be a set up. Write some letters back and forth then she (not the real she of course) asks for money for something. It's happened a number of times with the TLC catalogs.

Sounds like they got taste, too good of taste.Maybe they didn't even know who's picture it was,its hard to immagine these girl would volunteer or the agency would be that stupid. Now immagine all the other girls don't know their picture was posted either.Your response is going to be a little poor here.As P T Barnum said---.
I met girl in Cali while visiting the old Crystall Palace a couple of years ago, site of some good times for me.I was married, just checking it out to report to you guys. This girls picture was in Ed Beckwith's "aspiring latin models" web site without her permission.I guess she had had some  photos taken.Enterprising photographer it seems.

sounds like they are using photos that they dont have permission too use. i seriously doubt a professional model such as her would be in TLC.

We found another one in this latest issue:

Adriana Arboleda
(27) COL 5'9" 124 LBS.  Model & Reporter
Loves sun tanning, painting and a healthy lifestle.  Seeks a wise, witty and althetic man 30-45 years old.
EE VISA

She is probably also listed on this site.  I did not look today but yesterday my wife showed me where she is listed on a website for models.  She also has seen her on T.V. shows like Betty La Fea.

She clearly stands out as a model.
