Berkeley? I hear its quite popular over there. Very conservative-but my guess is that its sometimes "cool" to be on the minority side--Colman

Colman,

As with most campus radicals, their habits changed as
they progressed from renters to home-owners! It was
the young teaching assistants who worshipped Che,
favored rent control, and liked high taxes.

Good point Celt--I guess where you stand in the monetary ladder dictates how you look at things. I kinda consider myself a libertarian BUT I do agree with many key issues both with the Democrats and Republicans--you know its not like a generation or two ago where a "typical" Republican was pro-life, pro-nra, federal government out of state politics, anti-immigration, lower taxes (wealthy), religiously conservative and a "typical" Democrat was pro-choice, open policy for immigration, unionist, affirmative action, gun control...etc, blah, blah, blah. You know times have change when a gay doctor performs abortions and lobbies regularly for less gun conrol laws who on Thursdays night prays to "Sahani" and is currently trying to get married to a Danish engineer in Vermont...lol--the point is I believe its good- times have change and like I have said in the forum--all these people who complain about hyphenated "Americans" can kiss my big fat toe--lol--whoa-Celt what was your major at Berkeley? Anyway I think you are a good example of American--UNIQUE--God Bless--Colman

I was a junior college transfer. I could only get into Government (as a major),
so I took the minimum courses in that area, and the max in History. I remember writing a
big paper on the "La Violencia" in Colombia, which is why
I have always been interested in its current events.

We need more role models like that--very humble man who rose professionally and "shun" out the elite when they invited him to thier inner circles--Colman
