That's why they have the 3 month period for marriage. Sometimes it just DOESN'T work out. Honestly I didn't see any red flags. About NOT wanting children perhaps later so I wouldn't have worried too much. She obviously was VERY unrealistic about her move here because she was NOT prepared. The Ukrainian I've been seeing has discussed ALL these things with me so she won't be as shocked. I live 8 miles from Mexico so I honestly think the biggest shock will be the HOT weather here. Sorry to hear it didn't work out but sometimes it turns out that way. Pick yourself up & do it again. Now YOU are more prepared. God Bless.

Its not a blatant red flag like user girls will give off,but there seemed to be something short of real love going on with her.So its not a red flag but cause for concern, and you are right the fiance visa smoked it out.Good argument for a fiance visa.

Cali Vet

You responded once:

I wonder how many colombianas willingly and voluntarily go home for good never to return to the US again. My guess is maybe two since 1965.

Make that three.

ok, now i got the second part. sad, sad story. i really feel sorry for you. i wish you two would have worked out, but it takes two people who really love each other to make it, even more so when one leaves everything behind to start a new life with someone. their were some red flags, but not ones that jump out at you. at least she was honest, and didnt use you for a quick visa to the USA. what are your plans for now?

Pick up the pieces and go on with life. Maybe later this
year I return to Cali or Cartagena.

Life goes on.I'm glad your not down on the whole idea of a latina because its about the only way a less than wealthy or famous 45 year old is going to get the kind of woman he probably really wants.
Makes a good case for the fiance visa.It did what it was supposed to do,sort out big potential problems.
Hopefully you have the time and money to go back enough times to find the girl that is right for you.Finding the right woman can be the number one issue in our happiness,so the time and effort is worth it I think. Its reasonable to make it a high priority.
Curiosity, where do you live?Ever think of moving?

Sounds like you both gave it your honest best effort, although it sounds like she gave up on being able to adjust a little soon. Also sounds a little similar to Junfan's saga.

Sorry to hear it. Sometimes you have to wonder what they are expecting when they are new here vs. what they actually encounter. Maybe things could have started better had she not come in the winter/holiday season? (just grasping for ideas)

Yes you are correct, but the Nevada INS center sat on
her paper twice as long as they promised... Yet, if she
gave up in three weeks, obviously she did not love me
enough.
