In this report I would like to share my experiences with a
colombian woman. The good things, the bad things, the
challenges, joys and sorrows, and ultimately my (our) failure in
the relationship.
January 2002, Cali: three weeks, first trip. Preparations by
reading, analyzing this forum and other sources. Fell in love with
Cali, the usual "deer in the headlights" syndrome regarding
women there. Twelve or more citas at Ricardos, one looked
promising. A week of daily meetings with her, travel around, food,
sex, conversations etc. Enchanting, but it did not feel right. Last
week in a frenzy, three citas at LB. Luz Amparo is good, seems to
be genuine. There I met the ONE. Lets call her V. Beautiful,
educated, modest yet firm. No kids, never been married, 30
years old, 15 years junior to me. Good job, well to do with Co
standards. We met every day for the rest of my stay. Second day I
was introduced to the family, polite conversations, changing
ideas, nights out etc., slow approach regarding sex. (Yes I do
salsa, yes I speak spanish. I am physically fit, average looking,
middle class, first generation immigrant from another non latin
country.) Goodbye with tears (both sides) promises of return.
February-March 2002: many emails, many phonecalls. No red
flags.
March 2002, ten days in Cartagena: Happy reunion. Good times
in the city and in the bed. Soft adventures in the area. I
recommend Cartagena for its atmoshpere, architecture, food.
Many pretty women there also. With V, in depth conversations
about values, cultures, goals. First red flag: she does not want
kid(s). Second red flag: sister is recently married to a well to do
gringo in the Big Apple. She is 23 years younger than the guy. V
never asks for anything, never have questions about life in the
US. Good sex, but sometimes V is a little passive, which is a turn
down for me. We are comfortable in each others company, not
speaking the word "love" yet. Overall, we had a good time,
promises of return.
April-May: many emails, many phonecalls, she seems to be real,
kind and lovable. Continued....
