I read on the following web page that the system for setting an
appointment to obtain a visa in Colombia has changed since
December 2002.  There is now some kind of system with a PIN
number (that costs something) that allows you to access an
information system by telephone, that allows you to set up an
appointment for the visa.  Does this apply to K1 fiancee visas?
According to the Nebraska service center, we are about a week
away from our case being processed.  Please help ...

This is the Colombian Embassy's main page with this subject listed
as a top news
item:

http://usembassy.state.gov/colombia/wwwsmane.shtml

This is the actual page that it links you to:

http://usembassy.state.gov/colombia/wwwsc143.shtml

Thank you for your help ...

as far as i remember for a k1, you dont get to chose the date, the embassy sends your fiancee a package after they receive your file from the INS office here in the US. she then fills out  the paperwork and brings it with her to her interview date at the embassy. if everything is in order, she then has an appointment with the doctor for her checkup and then she comes back and receives her visa.
