I recently read  some dialog on a site posted by Condor pertaining to brazilian women and gringos. Several women posted that they did not go to where gringos were because of their behavior and the impressions given by the relationships.  I read the exchanges and found them to be credible if not comforting for some of us. I concur with the string about intentions of Brazilian women when dealing with gringos.
I recall many similar experiences. A Japanese girl who was embarrassed to walk on a public street and have tea with me yet,she was a hostess in a japanese bar. A korean girl who worked in the base exchange and went to dinner with me, but would only meet me in an international compound and required separate taxi's. A thai travel agent who was showing me where the train station was in Bangkok would not walk alongside me and explained that if someone she knew saw her with me it could destroy her reputation.     Several Latinas in Cali refused to hold hands with me in the malls. Yet these ladies were less inhibited in my apartment. I also recall my own thoughts towards a guy in Costa Rica who was in the Casino with an eighteen year old, he was at least seventy.
In  intercultural and broad age difference relationships there are public considerations. There are perceptions and costs that we all will have to live with, both over there and here. Once when my ex was visiting here we went to the IHOP for breakfast. I overheard the 200lb trailer trash waitress tell the other genius " wait on the guy with the senorita" with an obvious tone of contempt. Being out in Cali in public can produce stares that are not always rewarding. I try to date women that are close to me in age (but not that close!!).  The idea of arm candy has its costs as well as its benefits and in most cases educated latinas are aware of these costs in their own country. I am sure that you can imagine what Aws think observing a 25 year old latina with a fifty year old american. This is the prejudice the latina  will have to deal with if she comes here. Prejudice jealousy and contempt

Those orientals you mentioned all have a really exagerated sense of public "face" and they've got to be the highest maintenence of all. I had a Korean girlfriend once. It wasn't long before I began refering to her as the KBFH (Korean*********Hell). Cured me forever of Yellow Fever. As to calenas well all the more reason to skip importing one and just keep her in Colombia.

When I was younger I did alot of traveling in Mexico.  I remember stopping at this one bar in a small Mexican town.  I was dancing with this chica and there was one other couple on the dance floor.  The man looked like he was in his 70's dancing with a young chica.  He was having a great time dancing all over the floor vigorously while fondling and groping her.  She was laughing.  The chica I was with smiled at them and said to me "Grampa is having fun".  Retiring in a Latin American country is not a bad idea.
